The OH is keen to up sticks and get out of the rat race and has identified Wiltshire as an option.

I know nothing of Wiltshire except an old boss once lived there.

Any recommendations? Areas? Schools? Advantages/Disadvantages? Areas to avoid?

Thanks for reading.

Hello,
I'm from Warminster originally and have just returned after living away for 10 years. The last 5 spent in London.
It depends what you are looking for in Wilshire. If you live north of the county, Chippenham for example you are literally just off the M4 and the travel links to Bath are good. Bradford on Avon is very quaint a few small gift and coffee shops. Trowbridge and Salisbury are bigger towns and Warminster which is the nearest town to Longleat safari park is small. So nearest shopping centres would be Bath or Bristol. Avoid Westbury! There is nothing there. It's incredibly boring. Marlborough north east of the county is pretty market town with some good schools. Good luck

Marlborough, Royal Wootton Bassett, Devizes, Malmesbury all Vince, with good schools

Avoid Swindon though. It's a cultural desert

All nice. No idea who Vince is.

Thank you!

Connections to the M4 would be very useful.

I will look into those areas suggested and avoid Swindon etc.
