I was up at 12:30 am to settle dd who couldn't sleep through excitement.
Then she came in at 6 wanting to open her presents. Got in with us, and then went back to sleep for a couple of hours. Finally up at 7:45.

So I am well rested this fine Christmas morning ( not)

How about you?

FortyMerryFuckers Wed 25-Dec-13 10:11:35

Went to bed the back of 2 DS got up at 3 and no chance of a sleep now absolutely exhausted.

Norudeshitrequired Wed 25-Dec-13 10:14:15

I woke my kids at 6.45am as I couldn't believe that they were not running about excited that it's Xmas. I greeted my youngest with a big 'happy Christmas' and he looked at me all bleary eyed and said 'is it Christmas' in a very non excited way.
I think that I'm the only big kid in my house.

Up at 7.30 trying to Skype across the country, but no Internet connection, after 10 try's I gave up, will try later.

Lweji Wed 25-Dec-13 10:17:54

I had the alarm clock on to have time to prepare the turkey for lunch. I'm taking it to my parents'.
Plus roast potatos, sweet potatoes, rice and chestnuts.

DS was up at 8, although he had already opened his present last night at midnight.

mrshectic Wed 25-Dec-13 10:27:33

FloWhite Wed 25-Dec-13 10:31:36

Awoken by hungry kitties at 7am. Made enough noise at 9.30 to get my DD out of bed fgrin.

Oven is on. Lippy is on. TV is on. Having cup of tea and quelling anxieties about not ruining the beef my DF spent a bloody fortune on for the dinner!!

redundantandbitter Wed 25-Dec-13 10:33:22

Woke at 4 am ish... Youngest dd couldn't find me (bed swapping as DM is staying) ... Realised she had wet the bed, stripped bed etc.., then she was coughing... Calpol.. Back to bed... Up at 6 ish... Her and sister opened stockings... Then I went to put wee bed clothes in the machine and clear up dog wee. So, mostly wee-y Christmas .

TheArmadillo Wed 25-Dec-13 10:36:09

I was awake by 4am. Dh made me go back to sleep until ds woke at 7am. We woke dd up and opened presents. Dh then went back to bed.

I've just woken him up and he is in the shower. I have been preparing lunch. Ds has been playing computer games and dd has been eating all her chocolate, amazed that she has been allowed.

I was woken up by a thunder storm at about 3 this morning but DS1 didn't wake up until 8...amazed really.

caketinrosie Wed 25-Dec-13 12:15:52

I was awake at 1am then 2:30 then 4 for about an hour then asleep then finally up again at 6:30. I then sat in a semi conscious state for 40 mins whilst watching present opening. I then went back to bed until now when my ds woke me with the delicate sound of his new trumpet blasting in my ear. I have just eaten all the m&s chocs and any minute now I'm cracking open the prosecco. I'm not even washed. Hangs head in shame doesn't give a shit Happy Christmas everybody! fgrin

CremeEggThief Wed 25-Dec-13 12:40:21

7.15, after finally dropping off about 1.30, and waking up 4 or 5 times in between sad. Went back to bed at 8.30 and slept well until 10 though. Can't even blame it on a little one, as my DS is 11. Just not sleeping well at the moment.

tribpot Wed 25-Dec-13 13:08:53

Woken by cat going berserk round the bedroom at 1:30.

Woken by child at 6:15. Slightly earlier than we had agreed but not too horrific. When I phoned a friend at 09:20 and he sounded like I'd woken him up I remembered normal people would not have been up for 3 hours at that point.

wontletmesignin Wed 25-Dec-13 13:18:02

Went to bed at 2am. Kids woke up at 2:15. Talking repeatedly - so me repeatedly reminding them they need to sleep for santa.

3.45 i think they finally slept.

It was about i when i finally managed to drag myself out of bed.

I am so tired right now. But the kids are happy. 2 playing out on their bikesm 1 at their dads and the youngest messing on pc while i peel potatoes should be peeling them right now best get a move on!

wontletmesignin Wed 25-Dec-13 13:18:52

8am when i dragged myself out of bed. Oops

SillyOldHector Wed 25-Dec-13 13:54:34

My ex-p is downstairs and i'm upstairs at the moment. He won't go and is making the day unbearable just by his presence.
I might need to post later about my situation for some advice. He just told me he's going to fight me over csa payments. Apparently he can't afford what he will have to pay on a GP's salary hmm
He's obsessed with money and financially controlling. We've been together 15 years, house and mortgage is in his name and as we never married (he constantly avoided it) i'm entitled to nothing. I've been such a naive fool, how could i have put the dc and myself in such a vulnerable position.
I worked on and off over the years but as he worked away i did all the childcare and our agreement was that he earned and i was a sahm.
Dc and i are moving out soon as we have no choice. I can't afford this house.
I need to call csa and women's aid again and get some more advice.

What on earth does he hope to gain by putting us through this agony. I'll be well rid but it doesn't make it any less painful. I feel dreadful for my dcsad

GampyWabbit Wed 25-Dec-13 15:49:28

Amazingly dcs (2,6,10) only woke at 6.45am! Present opening commenced at 7am! Pretty impressed really grin!

redundantandbitter Wed 25-Dec-13 16:56:00

sillyoldhector are you still hiding upstairs? Hope he's gone to count his money and you can relax and enjoy your Dc's

CalamitouslyWrong Wed 25-Dec-13 17:00:04

DH woke me up at 6. I then tried to go back to sleep until DS2 got up at 7.45. DS1 was also waiting for him. He woke with a loud shout of 'I need a wee wee' and then asked, 'is it Christmas morning?'. He was delighted when we said yes.

Wen't to bed at 9am and woke up about half an hour ago.

DramaAlpaca Wed 25-Dec-13 17:24:04

We dragged the last teenager out of bed at 11am fgrin. It made a nice change from the 6am starts we used to have when they were small.

SillyOldHector - hope you are OK.

slug Wed 25-Dec-13 19:09:44

I cracked an eyelid at 9am and mentioned to DH that DD (aged 12) must have woken up because we could hear her playing her new guitar. Sometimes the teen years don't seem so bad. No more 6am hysteria. grin

cantheyseeme Wed 25-Dec-13 19:41:35

5.30Am with dd2 and dp was so excited he went in and woke up dd1 with his fave prezzie, she was so mardy haha we have a teenage 4yr old! grin Needless to say we are zonked but watching the xmas soaps and having a bevvy before an early night grin

GampyWabbit Thu 26-Dec-13 08:28:24

Sillyoldhector - hope you're ok hmm

Lweji Thu 26-Dec-13 09:12:20

Silly, I hope you are OK.

Do post elsewhere. He can't fight you over CSA. He has to fight CSA. grin That is the beauty of it.
