He's about to propose to me - How do I act surprised??

(236 Posts)
CapellaMa Sat 29-Dec-12 17:32:30

Ok a few months ago I made a cosmic order for my boyfriend to propose to me before the end of the year. It hasn't happened yet and I'm not seeing him tonight so obviously it will happen either tomorrow night or NYE as he's staying with me both these nights.

I don't want him to know his proposal was cosmically ordered so I'll have to act all surprised when he does it, even though I know what's about to happen!

Any tips on acting surprised when you're really not? I'm so excited grin

HecateQueenofWitches Sat 29-Dec-12 17:34:56

erm. can I ask and please don't take this the wrong way, I'm only asking cos I really can't tell.

Are you joking about cosmic ordering? Do you know through other means that he is going to propose? Or do you mean that he will propose because you ordered it through the cosmos? Or are you joking about the whole thing?

Alittlestranger Sat 29-Dec-12 17:35:00

Why act surprised? I think it will be far more romantic if you tell him this afterwards.

biscuit.

Ruprekt Sat 29-Dec-12 17:36:40

What happens if he doesn't propose?

CapellaMa Sat 29-Dec-12 17:36:56

I'm being serious, I've been cosmic ordering for a while and they always deliver.

I'm thinking it will be NYE because he specifically asked to spend the night with me and said he didn't want to go out as it would be "Noisy" and he wanted to special time with me.

CapellaMa Sat 29-Dec-12 17:37:20

He will propose

MikeLitorisHasChristmasLights Sat 29-Dec-12 17:37:40

I kind of believe in cosmic ordering but I really hope you have more to go on than just that.

Has he dropped any hints or done anything to make you think he may pop the question?

Emandlu Sat 29-Dec-12 17:37:44

What on earth is cosmic ordering?

VBisme Sat 29-Dec-12 17:38:46

Good luck with that!

sittinginthesun Sat 29-Dec-12 17:39:00

And if your cosmic order doesn't work??? Are you to blame him or the cosmos?

dequoisagitil Sat 29-Dec-12 17:39:33

Please update if it does or doesn't happen.

ImperialBlether Sat 29-Dec-12 17:39:45

OP, have a really good think and do your cosmic ordering malarkey and tell me what the winning lottery numbers will be, eh?

CapellaMa Sat 29-Dec-12 17:40:43

It will work, there is no question.

Not much else to go on other than he's hinted NYE will be special despite us not going out.

VBisme Sat 29-Dec-12 17:41:24

What if he's been cosmic ordering a new girlfriend?

I hope you haven't introduced him to the magic?

sittinginthesun Sat 29-Dec-12 17:41:36

What else have you ordered? Genuinely curious...

tzella Sat 29-Dec-12 17:43:46

Tee. And indeed hee.

Mono1 Sat 29-Dec-12 17:43:56

I really hope this works for you. Personally, I think it sounds like a load of old cobblers, but I remember those events when I'd worked myself up waiting for a proposal then being disappointed. In the end the proposal came when I least expected it. I hope it works out for you.

Alittlestranger Sat 29-Dec-12 17:45:27

I would order chips with tzatzki, my favourite drunken snack but hardly anywhere seems to sell them like that.

looks at life, understands why self is single

IslaValargeone Sat 29-Dec-12 17:45:38

What is cosmic ordering?

CajaDeLaMemoria Sat 29-Dec-12 17:46:06

This is one of those things I genuinely want to try and understand.

Could you give us an example of how it's worked in the past?

Pancakeflipper Sat 29-Dec-12 17:47:53

Just hug him really quickly and tightly so he cannot see your not-shocked face.

And you have to tell me when this happens.

HaveYourselfAMardyLittleXmas Sat 29-Dec-12 17:48:17

OP, I'd like to lose a few stone, win the lottery, and magically have someone come and tidy my house. Can you oral anise that for me please.

ThePinkOcelot Sat 29-Dec-12 17:48:45

http://thecosmicorderingsite.com/

Good luck!

HaveYourselfAMardyLittleXmas Sat 29-Dec-12 17:48:49

Oral anise???

Organise.

Why don't you just propose to him if you want to get married? confused Seems a bit weird to cosmically order someone to do something not that it works.

oral anise grin

I have a loooong list. Is cosmic ordering like Ocado?

toddlerama Sat 29-Dec-12 17:49:54

Just nod sagely and say "I thought as much". If he's going to spend his life with you he should have the full picture...

IslaValargeone Sat 29-Dec-12 17:50:49

grin Is it like Ocado

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf Sat 29-Dec-12 17:50:58

I think you may want to practice your "hiding your disappointment face" too. You know, just in case the cosmos doesn't deliver. Isn't there something in cosmic ordering that you can't make someone do something for you?? I might be wrong.

VBisme Sat 29-Dec-12 17:53:19

Why wouldn't you want him to propose of his own valition?

Doinmummy Sat 29-Dec-12 17:54:05

How did you cosmically order it? Do you just look to the heavens and ask? Genuine question.

tzella Sat 29-Dec-12 17:55:02

It's just extreme 'positive thinking' isn't it?

HaveYourselfAMardyLittleXmas Sat 29-Dec-12 17:55:15

Maybe Jesus in the Cabbage Van will turn up with the ring.

HecateQueenofWitches Sat 29-Dec-12 17:55:27

As part of your cosmic ordering, have you been looking at wedding mags, browsing through venues, pausing by jewellers windows?

I am not being sarcastic! I mean it. You could have unconsciously been doing a million and one things that could have set him thinking about marriage.

But, I don't suppose it matters whether the cosmos makes him propose, or whether he does it cos he wants to, or whether he's noticed you humming the wedding march while you brew up grin

I hope that he proposes to you and I hope you are both very happy together. x

CalamityKate Sat 29-Dec-12 17:55:51

Does anyone SERIOUSLY believe in this sort of thing??

IslaValargeone Sat 29-Dec-12 17:55:56

It's endorsed by Noel Edmonds.
Make of that what you will.

GoodKingWenSOLOslas Sat 29-Dec-12 17:56:00

<sigh> If only I'd known it was so easy!

HecateQueenofWitches Sat 29-Dec-12 17:57:13

I didn't think so, calamity. But apparently so.

I do hope it works out how the OP wants it though. Regardless how.

HaveYourselfAMardyLittleXmas Sat 29-Dec-12 17:57:15

Does Noel cosmically order those shirts?

HaveYourselfAMardyLittleXmas Sat 29-Dec-12 17:58:24

I agree with Hecate. wink Hope it works out for you OP. keep us updated!

IslaValargeone Sat 29-Dec-12 17:58:36

I should be able to offer more sensible advice really.
Fifteen years of a relationship I'm quite used to faking things.

IslaValargeone Sat 29-Dec-12 17:59:22

On a serious note, I hope it works out for you.

DoubleLifeIsALifeHalved Sat 29-Dec-12 18:02:47

oooh be careful, it its like Ocado ordering, you may get an unwanted substitution :-)

ReinDearPrudence Sat 29-Dec-12 18:03:54

I want to know what else you've ordered (and received) as well. Spill.

CalamityKate Sat 29-Dec-12 18:05:09

What, so actual adults with no SN believe that basically, their wishes will be granted?

OpheliasWeepingWillow Sat 29-Dec-12 18:05:38

Bloody hell. There's loads of things I really need. How does this ordering malarkey work?

IslaValargeone Sat 29-Dec-12 18:05:45

grin

TheSecondComing Sat 29-Dec-12 18:07:20

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

CalamityKate Sat 29-Dec-12 18:14:42

Right.

To anyone who actually believes in this whimsical rubbish (I mean really genuinely believes it as opposed to seeing it as a " unlikely but a nice idea" bit of fun): I think you're utterly deluded. Seriously, slightly touched.

However if you all put in a cosmic order for me to win the lottery tonight, I will not only donate a large amount to charity; I will apologise profusely for my scepticism.

VBisme Sat 29-Dec-12 18:20:40

Thing is.... she's probably hinted to high hell, so if he does, should we all then believe?

I've just cosmically ordered told DH to go and fetch some more chocolate. If he comes back with some should I then order him to buy a winning lottery card.

I think the NE thing relates very strongly to his game show, which relies entirely on luck. As does CO.

bumhead Sat 29-Dec-12 18:25:40

I hope your order comes through for you Op.

As an aside I've been using cosmic ordering for years and had great success. I haven't always got exactly what I ordered in the literal sense and when I have got things I ordered they weren't always what I wanted once I got them.
An example: I really fancied (when I was single this is) a TV celebrity. I ordered a date with him. So a long story short, I actually got a date with him, in fact several. I stayed with him a few days. He turned out to be a total knobber. So I got what I wanted but when I got it, it wasn't what I wanted.
Another thing I got was a 4X4. Now THAT I loved but it kept breaking down sad

sittinginthesun Sat 29-Dec-12 18:31:15

I've just googled - there's a whole new world out there I wasn't aware of. grin

Although, I suspect it's more to do with trying to achieve your goals, and sometimes actually succeeding. I mean, did the tv personality and 4 x 4 just appear in your front garden, or did you have to go out of your way to find them?

ImperialBlether Sat 29-Dec-12 18:36:24

Was this a celebrity that you knew, ie he lived next door to you and you used to go to school with him?

I'm a bit worried about the Ocado-esque substitutions - maybe if you asked for a proposal you might get a prolapse shock

christmaswhine Sat 29-Dec-12 18:45:33

Here is how to make it more likely to happen... more 'concentrated' , if you like...

So, you want love or more money. Write it down. VERY SPECIFICALLY. List what you want, and when you want it. You must be very very specific. Open your window, hold the list up and read it out. Leave it there.

On your hand draw a symbol. A heart if you want love, maybe... a £ sign if you want money for example.. renew this mini drawing until you get your wish.

I MIGHT HAVE JUST MADE THAT UP

bumhead Sat 29-Dec-12 18:47:37

Sitting - I mixed in similar circles to the celeb but it was very weird how it happened. Like things moved to make it happen. But no he didn't just appear in my garden (thank fuck!)
The 4X4 - I had no way of getting one, I had no money to buy one. Then my dad kind of came by one as part of a part exchange and said I could have it. Again a strange turn of events but there it was. I didn't 'strive' for either. In fact it wasn't until I found a notebook I'd had from when I started cosmic ordering while I was cleaning where I'd listed what I wanted, that I realised how many things on that list had happened/I'd got.
Anyways it matters to me not one jot whether anyone believes in it, I just know for me it works. There is more to it than asking for something and time limits don't always work so well but it works. smile

bumhead Sat 29-Dec-12 18:49:41

I should add, I didn't know the celeb before I ordered him.
And I didn;t go out of my way to get him, like I said when I 'got' him, I'd forgotten I'd ordered him as such

madamemax Sat 29-Dec-12 18:55:03

Looks like Noel Edmonds once cosmically ordered cash from impressionable people who have more money than sense...

www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1214995/Noel-Edmonds-launches-Cosmic-Ordering-app-iPhone-users-universe-help.html

bumhead Sat 29-Dec-12 18:59:27

I'm not saying there aren't those who use this for bad and there aren't sites etc about it that aren't very 'wafty' but I can only tell you what worked for me.
And yes I know how unbelievable it might seem etc but it seems to work.

nkf Sat 29-Dec-12 19:01:22

I think you should slap your knee and shriek, "I knew it! Thank you, Universe."

TriptoLaredo Sat 29-Dec-12 19:28:58

My experience with Cosmic Ordering

1# I "ordered" for my boyfriend to say he loved me. I thought I was specific. I named him, mentioned the weekend I wanted it to happen and the words he would say ("I love you"). He'd never said it before - therefore it would be a rather big co-incidence if he happened to say it on this specific weekend. Said weekend arrives. We're camping and becoming rather drunk. He takes his shoes off and I decide to use one as a can holder for my drink - he bursts out laughing and says "oh wow! I love you!" - not quite how I expected/wanted it but I can't argue that he said what I'd "ordered" him to say! He clearly didn't mean it - but he said it.

2# I "ordered" for my boyfriend to propose to me. I was very specific. Named him, named the weekend he would say it and the words he would say ("marry me?"). Said weekend arrives and he suggests we go out for a meal - as you can imagine I'm all excited thinking "oh wow, he's really going to ask! it worked!". We sit down for the meal and start eating - during conversation I say something stupid - he replies with "oh that's great! marry me!" and bursts out laughing. Again - he clearly didn't mean it, but he said it.

Still not sure where I stand with the whole thing to be honest!

TriptoLaredo Sat 29-Dec-12 19:29:59

Oh - I did "cosmically order" a money find one time. I found a tenner in a grave yard the next day - just lying there on the floor, all rained on and shining in the moonlight. This was before I "ordered" the boyfriend stuff.

Bogeyface Sat 29-Dec-12 20:50:25

I can't help thinking that the OP will say that he did propose even if he doesnt!

<mature> Surely if you're planning to spend the rest of your lives together you've discussed it a bit?

<shamelessly marking place>

OhEmGee25 Sat 29-Dec-12 22:12:27

Tripto: is this "order" just on a bit of scrap paper you then bin?! hmm

ImperialBlether Sat 29-Dec-12 22:18:35

In the interests of research, I have today done a bit of this psychic ordering. If I don't come back, you know it all came true.

Emandlu Sat 29-Dec-12 22:30:38

But what is cosmic ordering??

It just seems to be wishing on a star by another name from what's been said on the thread so far.

Can't you just cosmic order a surprised face?

ImperialBlether Sat 29-Dec-12 22:35:08

On the site I went to, on behalf of everyone here, I had to make a wish, give a date when it should be granted and give my email address (which doubtless will be sold on to the whole wide world.) On that date my wish should be granted. I will keep you informed!

Bogeyface Sat 29-Dec-12 22:37:19

I think the theory is that you ask the universe for what you want and positive thinking ensures that the universe fills your order.

I think that positive thinking and good attitude means that perhaps you embrace opportunities that you wouldnt otherwise consider. In the OP's case, she is probably being far less subtle than she thinks, being so convinced that he will propose she may have discussed weddings, rings etc so planted the idea in his head.
Its fairly harmless if you accept that it may not make your wishes come true but from what I read tonight, you must not let negativity enter your thoughts for this to work. You must completely trust that your order will be fulfilled, which could lead to desperate disappoinment.

The OP is a good example, she will not consider the possibility that he might not ask her. And what if he doesnt? He is a thinking breathing human who controls his own mind and destiny, he isnt a puppet to externally controlled, and he might not want to get married, ever! Cue one crushed and heartbroken OP and a boyfriend with no clue as to what he has done wrong.

Bogeyface Sat 29-Dec-12 22:38:41

Oh and for me Cosmic ordering means getting the result you want. Why not just propose to him?

SirSugar Sat 29-Dec-12 23:39:42

Pmsl. Brilliant thread OP. Was in need of ordered a good laugh

ImperialBlether Sat 29-Dec-12 23:49:57

SirSugar, you must have ordered that cosmically in your sleep and now you have it!

OK I am going to cosmically order a very specific request - with a specific date - will let you know if it happens.

Ok cosmically ordered 4 specific things on that site.

:drums fingers:

Can i cosmically order Tom Hardy, naked??

I have ordered Tom Hardy, naked. I've given a reasonable amount of waiting time. So we shall see if the universe is on my side

Oh I know someone who has seen Tom Hardy naked. God I hope that isn't the cosmos answering you. grin

OhEmGee25 Sun 30-Dec-12 06:57:55

Right op, I too would like a rock on my finger. I've placed my order, let's see confused

Fairylea Sun 30-Dec-12 07:03:12

Hahahahaha. smile

Cosmic ordering.... what a load of twoddle.

MrsHoarder Sun 30-Dec-12 07:11:16

SP did you order that you would see him naked in the flesh? Because I would imagine he's naked a few times a day as it is...

Astelia Sun 30-Dec-12 07:51:57

Yup absolutely barmy Give. It joins astrology, tarot cards, palm reading and indigo children in my list of dotty things some people seem to take seriously.

GiveMeSomeSpace Sun 30-Dec-12 07:54:57

OP I saw your other thread - did you cosmically order him to move in with you?

My wife told me to "put the fuckin bins out" yesterday. For my own edification - was that a cosmic order?

GiveMe- Depends; did she sing When You Wish Upon A Star after she told you?

BellaVita Sun 30-Dec-12 08:35:07

What a load of old bollocks.

Pantofino Sun 30-Dec-12 19:34:44

Quite Bella

Thank you. thanks Thank you for making me feel less mental.

It may not sound like much, but seriously, its a very big thing.

Alconleigh Sun 30-Dec-12 20:13:56

I didn't cosmic order, but I did sing "well if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it"', beyonce style, for about 2 weeks. I did this because Dani and Vincent danced to it it SCD and it got stuck on my Internal Jukebox. Himself thought it was my final ditch attempt at subtle hunting and we're now engaged. lord alone knows what Noel Edmonds would make of it, mind.

forgetmenots Sun 30-Dec-12 20:28:45

Ordering Michael Fassbender with a rose between his naked, clenched arse cheeks, a happy pregnancy and painless labour, a new house and a round the world trip, to be cashed in at any time, fingers crossed... grin

Sorry OP. I hope if its what you want he does propose. I would be terrified of huge disappointment though. Please come back and tell us if he pops the question!

FobblyWoof Sun 30-Dec-12 20:40:49

I think you should propose OP, before BF has a chance. Good luck

funnyperson Sun 30-Dec-12 20:50:29

OP of course he is going to propose and you should be prepared and make sure the sheets are clean, the ambience is right, champagne and mistletoe ready etc. Also have a back up not-angry plan for if he doesn't propose. Also if you really want to marry him and he doesn't propose then you could propose.

Also check that if he proposes that you actually want to accept.

BartletForTeamGB Sun 30-Dec-12 21:02:18

I'm curious as to why you 'ordered' him to propose when you've only been going out with him for 5 months now and seem a bit perturbed in your other thread by him seemingly moving in by stealth.

I think you need to have a good talk together about what you both actually want out of this relationship and where you see it going.

Fairylea Sun 30-Dec-12 21:05:26

I'm not sure I'd want someone to ask me to marry them because I'd ordered them to. Hardly romantic !

Fairylea Sun 30-Dec-12 21:05:40

If you are really dim enough to believe this bullshit then you pretty much deserve the sort of boyfriend who will wait till the last minute and then go 'I was about to propose but you've spoiled it all' and spend the next three years hinting that he's going to in order to train you to indulge him in every way.

SirSugar Sun 30-Dec-12 21:17:31

Has he done it yet?

BadLad Mon 31-Dec-12 08:24:05

It won't be necessary to act surprised.

If he proposes, all he will hope for is that you say "yes".

In fact, it's probably best if you aren't surprised. If he thinks you are good enough together to get married, then he will probably hope and assume you have been thinking the same.

Ruprekt Mon 31-Dec-12 09:59:40

Did we chase the deluded OP away????

Ha ha ha ha - my first one WORKED. One down 3 to go (although have forgotten them so need to log on to remind myself).

You should be very careful what you wish for: I know someone who ordered a helicopter, a tattoo and a robotic hand. He did get all three, but got the hand only as the tattoo (of a helicopter) became infected, and he had to have his hand amputated.

It's a powerful science.

Oh dear. If a self-entitled cocklodger he's the best you can do, it seems you haven't yet mastered the art of cosmic ordering.

Back to the bell, book, and candle for you, and better luck next time.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the OP's cocklodger bf proposed at mdnight. He's desperate to save for his own house for extra space in her wardrobe and knows he can get whatever he wants from her it by putting her on a promise he has no intention of keeping.

CuriosityKilledTheCrapTree Tue 01-Jan-13 08:08:16

ME too!!!

Although I did get proposed to last night, so I would like to share the love

<smug>

tribpot Tue 01-Jan-13 08:12:33

Congratulations, Curiosity! You don't think the cosmic order got delivered to the wrong house, do you? You'll need to wait in for a courier to collect it.

CuriosityKilledTheCrapTree Tue 01-Jan-13 08:15:56

Oh maybe. Shit. I will have to make some cosmic calls....

FellatioNelson Tue 01-Jan-13 08:17:46

Well? We are waiting! I have this book. If you got a proposal I may did it out again......

ohfunnyFRANKENface Tue 01-Jan-13 08:59:28

Still no update??

Do I have to cosmically order that too??

mrkidd85 Tue 01-Jan-13 10:41:52

What did you expect from this OP? Not only is OP deluded by thinking she can cosmically order a proposal, she's also a disgusting human being.

By cosmic ordering a proposal, and you obviously believe you'll get one because of it, you're trying to force someone into asking you to marry them. Are you such a bad person that he wont want to propose to you in a natural way that you need to hypnotise him into it?

Have you also cosmic ordered him never to go out with his mates or do whatever you want?

Casmama Tue 01-Jan-13 10:48:43

Mrkidd I think you are taking this a bit seriously, unless she's your girlfriend of course grin

CabbageLeaves Tue 01-Jan-13 11:02:37

Salt and vinegar with that mrkidd?

amillionyears Tue 01-Jan-13 11:03:11

Having had a look at your other thread, did you want him to propose?
And has he?

droves Tue 01-Jan-13 11:21:23

So how does this cosmic ordering malarkey work ?

How do you actually order cosmic ?

....and more importantly will it gift me swanky new Gucci heels ,or a Prada handbag ?

Hell I'm not greedy , I'd settle for a primarni handbag ! wink

SolidGoldFrankensteinandmurgh Tue 01-Jan-13 11:23:26

I hope SP cosmically ordered a sickbucket for herself.

GOOOOOOOOD MORNINNNNG SP!

Still no update I see.

Alibabaandthe40nappies Tue 01-Jan-13 11:26:43

I don't suppose SP is feeling all that bad? Takes some concentration to spell that badly and still be comprehensible wink

TidyDancer Tue 01-Jan-13 11:32:27

Omg, I've just read through this thread openmouthed.

Crackers. Utterly crackers.

bumbez Tue 01-Jan-13 11:33:23

Update please smile

I'm feeling fresh as a daisy. No doubt tonight i will feel like shit. Might have to cosmic order it not too

HazeltheMcWitch Tue 01-Jan-13 11:54:19

MeerkatMerkin - OMG, you know him too! Possibly you saw the documentary that was on TV a while back, about his workplace?

OverlyYappyAlways Tue 01-Jan-13 11:59:51

You don't want to mess with cosmic ordering, I wanted flooring and a man on a white horse, 2 months later the flooring is in boxes in the hall and some man is texting me...and messing my head up chocolate cake.... tis the knight on the white horse, if anyone listened to my ordering properly, no idea where the cake comes from must have a been a subliminal order or something....no idea if that is even the correct word!

Anyone engaged yet?

Anniegetyourgun Tue 01-Jan-13 12:23:46

So this cosmic ordering thing: is it generally deemed to be more effective than prayer?

Lueji Tue 01-Jan-13 12:30:44

Well, I did order a sofa and it's now in my living room. wink

DrRanj Tue 01-Jan-13 12:33:49

Marking place! Genuinely interested to see if it works!

Anniegetyourgun Tue 01-Jan-13 12:36:25

Not conclusive, Lueji. It just proves it's more effective than Yodel, which let's face it wouldn't be hard.

Lueji Tue 01-Jan-13 12:38:31

I had to pay for it, which might have helped. grin

GoodKingWenSOLOslas Tue 01-Jan-13 14:10:52

Did you say yes Curiosity? smile

AppleOgies Tue 01-Jan-13 15:27:48

Still nothing?

hippoCritt Tue 01-Jan-13 15:34:46

I have placed 2 cosmic orders <hopeful>

Congratulations Curiosity, presuming you said yes

OpheliasWeepingWillow Tue 01-Jan-13 15:38:24

Pah! Update required please OP.

OhEmGee25 Tue 01-Jan-13 15:50:16

Out of curiosity of this ridiculous idea I tried it myself last week. I can report that my own "order" of a nye proposal didn't come through! However, he did tell me he's booked us a holiday in Majorca so win grin I wonder if OPs order worked out. (sceptic)

OPeaches Tue 01-Jan-13 16:03:46

Really?? People believe this?

Ruprekt Tue 01-Jan-13 16:10:05

bump

Lueji Tue 01-Jan-13 16:24:54

Come on OP, just tell us it worked, you are all very happy.
Then name change.

grin

Otherwise we'll be asking for updates till next NYE.

Keep checking this thread to see an update!
Ah man, come on OP we're on tender hooks....

PelvicFloorClenchReminder Tue 01-Jan-13 16:35:39

OP, you have to come back and update us with all the details of the proposal or we will have to assume the whole cosmic ordering thing to be a load of wanky bollocks. And no one wants that, right?

Yes please prove me wrong! I'm sitting here with a list as long as my arm!!!!

BertieBotts Tue 01-Jan-13 17:08:21

I don't think you can put a time limit on, can you? Plus I'm not sure it works on the actions of another person, just things. I've used cosmic ordering in the past and found it worked but never for an action by another person. That seems against the spirit of it really.

cookielove Tue 01-Jan-13 17:27:44

Hmmmmm, i do think its a bit bonkers, but would love to know if OP got her proposal nosy fecker is me

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep Tue 01-Jan-13 21:15:46

We'd all like it to have worked, OP.

I believe in the Law of Attraction, which I guess is the same thing. If it hasn't worked, you can't have done it right.

bumhead Tue 01-Jan-13 21:54:12

The Law of Attraction is the same thing. I actually think the name Cosmic Ordering isn't helpful.
It does actually work (well does for me) but you can't force people to do things against their will and time limits don't always work because it isn't as simple as just placing an order.
Also you have to be very careful what you wish for because you might just get it eg me and the TV celeb (and what a stalkerish knobber he turned out to be)

OverlyYappyAlways Tue 01-Jan-13 22:38:22

anyone married yet?

I#m not, I can destroy all relationships in seconds.....

I have my flooring though

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep Tue 01-Jan-13 23:02:27

Overly Eh?

OverlyYappyAlways Tue 01-Jan-13 23:07:59

I haave no idea what i said...

I was advised to order flooring, via a candle and thinking..and staring sa lot at flooring... I have flooring.

A man came next, told him to erm... go away ...

(ignore the pissed posters please)

CuriosityKilledTheCrapTree Wed 02-Jan-13 07:42:27

Yes - I did say yes grin

tribpot Wed 02-Jan-13 07:45:25

Well you probably had no choice, Curiosity, you were probably cosmically ordered to do so grin

Congratulations on surrendering to the fate ordained for you by the universe itself!

mariefrance1 Wed 02-Jan-13 08:45:19

What do you think of this? I put in a cosmic order several weeks ago to be with someone on new years eve, thinking of one of two guys I had recently met. It got to the night before and I was still staying in alone with the kids and accepted the cosmic order had not worked. Anyway the ex (separated 2 years) turned up at the door out of the blue and asked me back. We saw the new year in together. Moral of the story: be careful what you wish for!

Hazel, if you are talking about a Mr Denham then I know him and his robotic hand well, although have never seen a documentary about his work, but I'm sure I will find it very serious and informative if I do watch it! wink

JustFabulous Wed 02-Jan-13 12:31:36

I am so glad I didn't read the whole thread since the OP couldn't be arsed to update hmm.

I'm guessing their was no proposal and that why she hasn't returned

Lueji Wed 02-Jan-13 12:35:00

I think she has, by not updating...

ReinDearPrudence Wed 02-Jan-13 12:43:25

No proposal and no update. This really won't do...

jenny99 Wed 02-Jan-13 12:44:54

Can we put in a cosmic order for an update?!

My cosmic order hasn't arrived yet either

izzyizin Wed 02-Jan-13 14:32:29

Would that be the false choppers or the alka seltzer that hasn't turned up, SP?

Have you got any of that vofna left?

grin think my dad has some left. I didn't wish to bring any back with me though. Think cosmic order might just be late with the new year and all that.

Ruprekt Wed 02-Jan-13 14:37:01

Blimey I bet she is cross at not being engaged.

JustinBoobie Wed 02-Jan-13 15:13:22

so did it work???

CapellaMa Wed 02-Jan-13 15:55:57

Update.

He didn't do it. I'm not engaged.

However, to be honest - I spent most of new years eve day considering the fact that actually, we've been together 5 minutes and to be become engaged after such a short time is madness. We don't even live together. Christ - I was panicking last week that he seemed to be moving in with me by stealth!

So yeah, I pushed these thoughts to the back of my head and told myself I was still excited about the upcoming proposal but in all honesty, I think deep down I knew it wasn't going to happen and nor should it.

So there you go, you can all laugh at me now smile

Lueji Wed 02-Jan-13 15:57:42

And you should be happy that it didn't.

You might have said yes...

Tom Hardy didn't turn up either so its both of us they will be laughing at

OverlyYappyAlways Wed 02-Jan-13 15:58:35

That's quite good tbh. You don't want to rush things, maybe next year, or the one after. smile

I hope it hasn't ruined your New Year!

Pancakeflipper Wed 02-Jan-13 15:59:32

Well done on returned Cap.
For all this Cosmic Ordering sounding abit Woo, you actually sound rather sensible.
Hope things go ok for you.

flowerytaleofNewYork Wed 02-Jan-13 16:02:12

I've been lurking on this thread and I am joining it to say I'm really impressed that you came back to update OP. Would have been much easier not to.

OverlyYappyAlways Wed 02-Jan-13 16:03:03

Fanjo you are making me giggle, I am not even drunk today, please stop it...ahem...

I would give the cosmic order another go, I know no-one believes me but I stared at a picture of wooden flooring for my house for 2 months, it turned up Christmas Eve, it's in the hall in its boxes, I have it though, that tells me staring at pictures and wishing works... I won't even tell you about the whole Bob thing...

Good move OP leave the bastard date a bit!

Aah, OP - very well done on the update smile

dequoisagitil Wed 02-Jan-13 16:07:55

Well done on being so brave as to update.

OverlyYappyAlways Wed 02-Jan-13 16:11:34

Very brave, I would be very upset.

AppleOgies Wed 02-Jan-13 16:13:55

We are not going to laugh... Enjoy your relationship and getting to know each other better. If he is the one , he will propose when he's ready without all this cosmic thingamajig!

MrsHoarder Wed 02-Jan-13 16:15:32

Well done for being brave enough to update, probably for the best, have a brew

IslaValargeone Wed 02-Jan-13 16:17:35

Fair play to you Capella for returning with an update.
Nobody is laughing at you either, I really hope that you aren't too disappointed and that the relationship continues to make you happy and takes you to where you want it at a sensible pace.

janey1234 Wed 02-Jan-13 16:21:20

Very impressed you came back. Maybe next year!

janey1234 Wed 02-Jan-13 16:21:35

ps definitely not laughing at you.

forgetmenots Wed 02-Jan-13 16:33:04

Not laughing at you, glad it worked out even though it didn't, iyswim!

No Fassbender, naked or otherwise, for me so I'm not sure the joke is on you OP smile

tribpot Wed 02-Jan-13 16:58:06

Sounds like the universe gave you the right outcome, OP. Thanks for coming back to update us.

HellonHeels Wed 02-Jan-13 17:02:55

You know OP, I think the Universe understood your cosmic order and responded. You obviously weren't as committed to your order as you thought and the Universe heard your real feelings grin

CabbageLeaves Wed 02-Jan-13 17:39:22

Capella - good on you for returning to update. Perhaps cosmic ordering does have your best interests at heart

BertieBotts Wed 02-Jan-13 17:42:48

That's a nice ending smile Glad to hear it all worked out as it should... and perhaps a lesson in careful what you wish for grin

DozyDuck Wed 02-Jan-13 18:23:30

What did he do that was special though? smile

GiveMeSomeSpace Wed 02-Jan-13 18:29:22

OP big respect for coming back with an update. I'm definitely not laughing at you. Well done!

funnyperson Wed 02-Jan-13 18:45:50

Capella thanks for getting back. Was thinking of you.

Ruprekt Wed 02-Jan-13 20:11:56

Well done for coming back.

Now tell us other things you have cosmically ordered cos we are all fascinated.

JustFabulous Wed 02-Jan-13 20:19:44

That is a very dignified update.

ReinDearPrudence Wed 02-Jan-13 21:08:13

Thank you for the update.

VBisme Wed 02-Jan-13 21:55:44

Thanks for coming back, and I hope the relationship works out.

giraffesCantGoFirstFooting Wed 02-Jan-13 23:31:51

hope things work out

porridgelover Wed 02-Jan-13 23:47:13

Capella, good on you for updating. Many would NC and let it die. Brave.

Astelia Thu 03-Jan-13 01:10:09

Nice update Capella. I feel a bit mean for being rather scathing earlier blush.

Enjoy this lovely part of your relationship Capella smile
