oh no.....email gone to exactly the wrong person

oh shit

I just responded to an email from a friend and had a right rant about my mother and my layabout sister. When I hit "send" I saw my mother's email address in the box next to my friend's.

I have no idea how this has happened, unless I have inadvertently clicked on her name during the course of writing the email

The address is quite old and I don't know if she still uses it (it's in her old name, she reverted to her maiden name about 18 months ago) and it seems linked to cable TV, I think she changed to SKY.

What the hell am I going to say if she gets the e-mail? I mean every word of what I say, but didn't mean her to read it?

just be honest and say you were letting off steam, and yes, xxx is an issue for you, and you wish that you had been able to tell her to her face

at least the issue will be in the open

OH NO! What a classic!
There are worse scenarios believe me!
There's a chance that she won't see it though. Why don't you ask her what email she is using these days - maybe you could say that you're expecting top important email and that your server is down. Ask if you could please use her email address and of course you will need passworld to retrieve top important mail. Delete message and done!

Have you looked at the e mail in the 'sent mail' box - you could check whether her name was really there, and which of her addresses?

thanks for your input ladies

It's definitely been sent to her - it's in the sent box. The address definitely seems linked to cable TV. I have a feeling it's an address she used before she had a PC at home (do you remember when you could buy those keyboards that connected to your TV?!).

I've had no reply to it, but she works all week and would use e-amil at work if she needed something. But that's a great idea about asking for her e-mail address and password cha cha - what a crafty devil you are!!
