Hi,

My fiancee & I are getting married in "secret" in Stratford on 8th Aug & we are desperately seeking witnesses now. We need 2.

We are doing this because our big ceremony will be happening abroad & our family & friends are coming to join us. So for the legal documents & to save a lot of money we are getting the marriage certificate over here in the UK.

We live in the North West so don't know anyone near Stratford & we need to write the witnesses names on a form we have to sned back to the office V.Soon otherwise we would of just asked some passers by.

So I am desperately asking if anyone could make it to be our witnesses - it won't be long, just a basic ceremony. Or if you know someone who could help we would really appreciate it,

Thanks in advance. x x

Yes - no one seems to be adding to the other one now & we don't have much time now

Is it Stratford on Avon or Stratford London?

If it's the former I'm still up for it. Will have to speak nicely to DH and bring two monsters but we could have a day out in Stratford.

But you aren't CATable - so you'll have to CAT me! Or contact me direct. If you go to www. woodwormmusic.com and click on contacts you can find me I'm the one who doesn't look like a bloke!

So are you sorted?

What time is the wedding? I was supposed to be picking up DS from his grandmother's house in Stratford on that day but now they're bringing him back instead. Would have been exciting!

I won't be able to as DS will be on his way home but I was hoping it might be early enough that DS and his Grandmother could. Unfortunately I've now found out his Aunt is bringing them down and going on to somewhere else so I think they'll be on the M25 by then.

Sorry!

Good luck and remember, at worst, I think someone who works at the registry office can do it (as long as they're not the registrar)....

I used to work right next door to a registry office and various of my colleagues were witnesses because people occasionally came in and asked for help.

So, if what you're arranging doesn't work out I wouldn't worrry overly. You should be able to drag willing people off the street.

Congratulations!
