sfxmum Tue 18-Nov-08 11:34:59

morningpaper Tue 18-Nov-08 11:35:47

Mine would assume that I'd meant to send it to Nigel in Accounts, or something...

BennyAndJoon Tue 18-Nov-08 11:36:09

arrrggghhh - I can't as he took my phone with him by accident.

Last time I did I got "love you too X"

morningpaper Tue 18-Nov-08 11:36:14

CD I thought your husband was in bed with a man for a moment there shock

MmeLindt Tue 18-Nov-08 11:37:55

Hmm, awaiting response.

Should not take long as he is never without his blackberry.

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 11:38:34

well given i have onl;y just started seeing this guy (although i have known him a while) i reckon i'd probably scare the shite out of him!

might give it a go anyway though just for fun grin

Fiveplusbump Tue 18-Nov-08 11:39:09

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 11:40:34

grin at "how much have you spent"

inzidoodle Tue 18-Nov-08 11:41:30

oh what a good idea sending mine now grin

notyummy Tue 18-Nov-08 11:42:29

Sent...will await with baited breath...although he is in meeting nearly all day. (Thats my excuse for when he ignores me!)

I just sent it - but I had to go and wave the phone around by the front door, because that's the only place I can get a signal for outgoing calls/messages in this house.

For some reason, inbound calls and messages can get through to the rest of the house - so the phone is on the desk awaiting reply.

My friend who taught me how to use predictive text, also taught me how to teach my phone sweary words (she needed such words often, usually when referring to her xp), and I found myself with a screen full of interesting words of the sort that would have got my mouth washed out with soap as a child - and it seemed a pity to waste them so I sent them to dh - swiftly followed by another text to explain the first, but before that one arrived, dh had rung home on the landline to ask if my phone had been stolen!!blushgrin

chequersandchess Tue 18-Nov-08 11:42:53

"I love you too. You ok? How's baby? xx"

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 11:43:11

Just sent it!

He's at work so doesn't usually answer straight away.

i am PMSL awaiting the response, i can just see the colour drainign from his face and shaking gringrin[evil]grin

BitOfFun Tue 18-Nov-08 11:43:43

I got "love you too gorgeous" and then a few lines of such unimaginable pornography I couldn't possibly repeat them grin

BexieID Tue 18-Nov-08 11:44:21

DP hasn't taken his phone to work. He did just phone and ask how I am and whether I was going to work today (went home sick on sunday). My ears hurt and i'm sneezing/coughing alot.

BitOfFun Tue 18-Nov-08 11:45:09

Mamazon, you are very brave!!

chequersandchess Tue 18-Nov-08 11:45:12

artichokes Tue 18-Nov-08 11:46:01

If I sent such a text to DH he would probably panic thinking labour had started and the hormones were making me all weird.

I can't do that to him grin.

thell Tue 18-Nov-08 11:46:12

What a lovely idea!

I daren't - he might think hes on a promise later then and hes not!

BitOfFun Tue 18-Nov-08 11:48:01

I sent an I love you text recently, and got a reply from my mum saying "I love you too, but are you sure that affectionate message was meant for me?" - I was very relieved that DP is more given to the dirty texts than I am!

flowerybeanbag Tue 18-Nov-08 11:49:54

I got I love you too! xx

ComeOVeneer Tue 18-Nov-08 11:50:23

Oh I didn't think of that OYBK, I hope not as I am full of the lurgy.

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 11:51:08

t'is ok. i shall explain all when he call's terrified.

I know him well enough to know that wjhilst he will freak slightly and lose all capacity to speak he wont actually run a mile.

i hope hmm

MorocconOil Tue 18-Nov-08 11:52:08

No response. Must be in a meeting.hmm

Umlellala Tue 18-Nov-08 11:52:50

LOL, my dh rang home yesterday and greeted with 'Hello Sweetheart' - shame it was my mum that answered (looking after dd)!!

Awaiting my response from dh...

Pinkjenny Tue 18-Nov-08 11:52:52

Unfortunately I ruined the 'I love you' text by following it up with another one saying, 'There's 20% off, now please can I get that coat?'

Dh is trying to keep me on a tight leash at the moment, due to wild and frivolous spending!!

He said yes, btw. grin

BabiesEverywhere Tue 18-Nov-08 11:53:32

LOL, I got...

"Yes yes. Get leveling."

mumblechum Tue 18-Nov-08 11:55:27

Still waiting. Will be lucky if he checks his texts anytime this week angry

BitOfFun said:
"I got "love you too gorgeous" and then a few lines of such unimaginable pornography I couldn't possibly repeat themgrin"

Ohh pleeease repeat them, Fun - we promise it won't go any further ........ honest!

OK this is weird. Was about to e-mail my DH as instructed only to discover an e-mail he has already sent to me wishing me a good day, directing me to the cash supply and declaring his love.

Darling, have you discovered Mumsnet?

Flightattendant4 Tue 18-Nov-08 11:57:59

I daren't either. blush

we haven't really, ahem, reached that point yet....I am not sure we are even going to!

NorkyButNice Tue 18-Nov-08 11:59:22

no response here - typical!

I would, but I know DP is too tight to send one back, therefore, tis futile

MmeLindt Tue 18-Nov-08 12:01:29

No reply yet, he must be in a meeting.

Lol at how many men think that we want to order sofas/clothes etc

oooh email arrived

BitOfFun Tue 18-Nov-08 12:01:32

Sunnygirl blushblushblush -honestly, I can barely read it myself, never mind re-type it! grin

Miyazaki Tue 18-Nov-08 12:02:04

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 12:02:49

"i know darling. im fabulous ;). don't get the train ticket, i will collect you saturday"

I have sooo got to play this game more often

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 12:03:38

No reponce yet ... he goes in fits and starts with texts, sometimes it's hardly sent before you get a reply and other times he doesn't even mention he got it when he gets home in the evening ... will wait and see what happens grin

MmeLindt Tue 18-Nov-08 12:03:41

He just sent

.....You, you....and nobody else but you....;-)

I am all of a flutter Thank you, Teenspirit, we are having a bit of a bad time at the moment so that really made my day. Off to iron his shirts as an expression of my love

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 12:04:26

Ahem blush response grin

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 12:05:03

LOL Mamazon grin

Miyazaki Tue 18-Nov-08 12:06:12

loving mamazons.

Wispabarsareback Tue 18-Nov-08 12:06:24

Mine got straight back with 'I love you too x' Which is nice. But I can't help feeling a bit envious of BitOfFun.

I just got a reply saying he'd been in a conference upsetting other people - and that he loved me loads.

The trouble is that this may well have given him Ideas - you know what I mean......blush - and that would be TWICE in TWO DAYS!!! Unheard-of!

daftpunk Tue 18-Nov-08 12:08:09

he txt back

"i can't give you anymore money"

oh well...

suwoo Tue 18-Nov-08 12:09:30

I've just done it too. I think Dh will be very worried about what has come over me! I will await his reply with anticipation and trepidation. Although he will probably forget to reply as he is currently driving. Dangerous game, this wink.

katiechops Tue 18-Nov-08 12:12:48

Awww! I just got "You make me smile. I love you lots and lots. x"

That's cheered me up as I've had a rubbish morning!

MorocconOil Tue 18-Nov-08 12:13:00

Still waiting....Feel like sending a second text, saying 'well??' but looks a bit desperate.

sweetkitty Tue 18-Nov-08 12:16:31

He just phoned me and said "what was that for, it was really nice"

It is pay day today so I thought he might have siad "what have you bought?"

twoluvlykids Tue 18-Nov-08 12:19:24

did, got a phone call back - he's away for a couple of days so presently between trains!

didn't get "Iloveyou" back, but "Thought of you as they're handing out free sample of Vicks in the stations"

(I've got a flu-y cold sad)

purpleduck Tue 18-Nov-08 12:19:43

my dh is off on a school trip with ds, and I gave him a stern talking to about being on his phone all day.

I don't think i should encourage him wink

I think I would get porn back too.

I would TOTALLY reapeat it thoughgrin

whoops Tue 18-Nov-08 12:19:51

I texted dh 15 mis ago and still no reply!
I know he isn't busy as he is at home with ds today.

Aimsmum Tue 18-Nov-08 12:21:25

Message withdrawn

kormachameleon Tue 18-Nov-08 12:22:41

well i would but considering i have just had a massive tantrum at him and stormed off in my car blush i think he might think i have gone mad

MrsTittleMouse Tue 18-Nov-08 12:27:43

No point - I wouldn't get any reply - DH has no idea how to use his new phone. If I ring him then I might get a reply, depending on whether he has remembered to take it off silent (and whether his attempt to do so have worked). grin

Portofino Tue 18-Nov-08 12:29:48

Whoops = lol at "I know he isn't busy as he is at home with ds today"

Portofino Tue 18-Nov-08 12:32:36

I had coincidentally just sent mine and email asking how he was as he was ill yesterday. And saying love you lots...

Reply: "A little bit better my Lovely!"

I'm jealous of everyone else now. Especially the porn.

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 12:33:23

I got a call saying "What have you done??" Then he explained that he received the message when he was talking to his boss so was a bit stumped ... He did reply "Love you 2" but the signal here is a bit crap so it didn't come until after he phoned grin

RTKangaMummy Tue 18-Nov-08 12:33:57

I txted DH and got one back saying

"I love you too xxx"

He is very stressed today so thanks for the idea cos I know it will have really cheered him up

tweetyfish Tue 18-Nov-08 12:34:13

Hehe! He rang back with the opening line "why, what have I done?"

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 12:34:59

he just rang me.

said that although he figured it must have been some kind of joke or mistake as i had sent it so out of the blue..he was a bit disapointed that it wasn't true

seriously, this game is ace!

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 12:35:44

LOL tweetyfish, that's better than "what have you done" grin

FanjoForTheMammaries Tue 18-Nov-08 12:36:49

'eh? You too but why now?'

whoops Tue 18-Nov-08 12:37:34

Still no reply shock
ds is 7 so doesn't need a hige amount of looking after - especially as he is off sick today so dh isn't going anywhere!
I'll give him half an hour then I'm going to give him an earbashing grin

CharleeInChains Tue 18-Nov-08 12:37:42

I got - 'I love you too, car failed MOT BADLY - can you get me a Potnoodle for lunch' hmm

Aimsmum Tue 18-Nov-08 12:40:01

SpringySunshine Tue 18-Nov-08 12:48:39

I wish I could, but DP is on the sofa next to me

Charlee, you're a lucky woman!

MorocconOil Tue 18-Nov-08 12:52:06

Well Charlee, it's better than complete silence, and he sounds like he's easy to please on the wining and dining frontgrin

belcantwait Tue 18-Nov-08 12:55:03

lol he sent back....

"what? where did that come from?"

RubberDuck Tue 18-Nov-08 12:55:48

I got:

"I love you too

(he has this theory that I only fully appreciate him when I read threads on mumsnet about feckless men grin)

inzidoodle Tue 18-Nov-08 12:57:20

got - love you 2 xxx smile

whoops Tue 18-Nov-08 13:00:07

Just phoned dh's mobile to see if it was near him - He answered and told me he didn't bother replying as he knew I was busy (I'm at work)
I can spare a few seconds to read a text

Lakota Tue 18-Nov-08 13:05:48

I got "I love you too, you're gorgeous xxx"

i'm still waiting but he could be in a meeting!!!

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 13:08:12

We should do this again in a month's time and see how the responses vary ... if the ones who said 'why?' or 'how much have you spent?' etc remember and correct their ways grin

CharleeInChains Tue 18-Nov-08 13:09:28

Actusally saying that about the Potnoodle thing dp has a very varied diest he will eat anything so im quite lucky there!

I end all my text messages to him with I love you so i guess he's just used to it! grin

No point, wouldn't get anything back.

I got "I am so in love with you xxx"

Nice idea teenspirit

lovelysongbirdfliesaway Tue 18-Nov-08 13:14:49

Ha ha!

still no reply

MorrisZapp Tue 18-Nov-08 13:31:14

I got 'love you loads and loads! x'

I'm pleased with that. This thread is great! Reminds me a bit of that question they ask each week in the Saturday Grauniad: Have you ever said I love you and not meant it?

Obviously I do love DP but he'll never know my spontaneous expression of affection was prompted by a lark on MN and that his response is under the microscope of national female gossip!

I'm so happy the internet was invented

biskybat Tue 18-Nov-08 13:31:40

poshwellies, love your dh's response grin

cheesesarnie Tue 18-Nov-08 13:31:44

poshwellies and pinkjennygrin

hmmm - dh has failed to respond. As I'm 30 weeks pg this may lead to emotional meltdown in the office. Must think more carefully before participating in these experiments....

bratnav Tue 18-Nov-08 13:33:39

Waiting for a response but I know he went into a meeting an hour ago, so could be a while

I got "Yay. Hey I love you too beautiful. Are you looking forward to being mrs c ? I am xxxxx"

blush smile

I'm assuming he means he's looking forward to getting married (next Saturday) and not actually contemplating a sex change hmm

squeaver Tue 18-Nov-08 13:35:11

Posh - aw.

Pinkjenny - grin

As my dh is actually in the house right now, I should think he'd just come downstairs and give me a look like this hmm x1000.

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 13:35:26

LOL at the dilemma as to whether or not to confess ...

I told him straight off why I'd sent it grin
Didn't want him getting Ideas grinwink

Rhubarb Tue 18-Nov-08 13:37:10

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 13:43:30

samsonara Tue 18-Nov-08 14:06:09

When I saw this thread after it come on I knew I couldn't as dh doesn't like to be called at work as he is with patients etc, but he calls two or three times anyway to check how we are, so anyway didnt text him but was very surprised when he called and the first thing he said " I just called to say I love you"...must be something in the air with you lot sending your texts!

notnowbernard Tue 18-Nov-08 14:06:41

He texted back saying "I love you too"

thenewme Tue 18-Nov-08 14:07:13

I texted mine it this morning as he has a very tough day at work today and he hasn't replied or phoned yet. He must be really in the thick of it. sad [worried]

notnowbernard Tue 18-Nov-08 14:07:28

All relationships are firey at the start, oh the good old days. Weve just been through a very rough patch so are quite lovey with each other at present. I know why he phoned first, its because he prob though i was thinking bad things about him (he works with a woman thats been chasing him)

wuglet Tue 18-Nov-08 14:11:22

He rang straight back asking "what was that in aid of?"

blush - lied and said "I just wanted to let you know" - think it might have spoiled it a bit if I said my invisible friends told me to do it!

herbietea Tue 18-Nov-08 14:12:49

Wouldn't text mine as he was vile to me last night, and there would be no point as he is not allowed his phone at work.

He did come home with a paper, magazines and chocolate for me at lunchtime. He apologised and said he loves me!

Rhubarb Tue 18-Nov-08 14:16:41

I sent mine again in capital letters, being careful not to send it to lulumama. I'm now a bit paranoid that the second time round I might have sent it to someone else now!

Rhubarb Tue 18-Nov-08 14:21:04

Just got "ok doll take it easy. Love you too"

ramonaquimby Tue 18-Nov-08 14:32:16

I got 'good'

coolbeans Tue 18-Nov-08 14:32:28

I got:

"Love you more, cb. Um, what exactly did you buy at lunch?!"

BlueCowStillWondering Tue 18-Nov-08 14:35:02

bugger, can't find my phone

NomDePlume Tue 18-Nov-08 14:37:21

I bet you a £10 I either don't get a reply or it says "no you don't "

fillybuster Tue 18-Nov-08 14:39:46

Awaiting response grin!

inzidoodle Tue 18-Nov-08 14:43:50

LMAO @ downbutnotout ..hope your not in meltdown!!

NOT teling dh it was MN experiment, I would hate it if it was the other way around and found it was an expriment sad will hide all evidence! I do text it from time to time anyway cause I do love him an awful lot grin

TrixieVix Tue 18-Nov-08 14:45:02

I got "Love my fam too"

Just writing that has made me realise how weird our language is!!

Geepers Tue 18-Nov-08 14:45:51

My husband is upstairs in teh office working and his phone is here with me, so I emailed him instead. He replied:

"Anything from the ECHO ???

I luv u 2"

The old romantic hmm

No reply yet, but he had just rung an hour before to see if I was ok!!grin

fillybuster Tue 18-Nov-08 14:48:21

DH just rang me (to my work, from his) to say "I just wanted to ask why and what I've done?" shockblush....

...was in middle of conf call so hung up on him fast. Hang on - phone just beeped...

dh to say "I love you too" followed by about 10 smiley faces.

Hurrah!! gringringrin

tiredemma Tue 18-Nov-08 14:48:50

"love you too u soppy git- have you defrosted the chicken?"

TrillianA Tue 18-Nov-08 14:50:21

I got called a sap. But also got a 'love you too'.

Tigerschick Tue 18-Nov-08 14:53:08

Some of these remind me of when DH and I were first married and we had a cat but no cat door. We used to leave little notes to eachother saying "Cat is in/out. Love you x" The point of the note was the bit about the cat but we always put the 'love you' bit to make it seem less boring, I guess grin

10krunner Tue 18-Nov-08 14:53:45

We do this to each other all the time so it would be nothing out of the ordinary for my DH to receive this [smug look]

spamm Tue 18-Nov-08 14:53:55

I got " Love you " back - much needed, as we are having a bit of a low time right now. smile

Neeerly3 Tue 18-Nov-08 14:55:11

just sent mine, but he will be rather bemused - he works about 50ft away from me in another office and we talk on MSN all day....

Twims Tue 18-Nov-08 14:56:03

aaw bisky bat

snigger Tue 18-Nov-08 15:02:16

I got

"Love you too, mrs."

Next week lets try "Can you loan me £50" and see what responses we get grin

Neeerly3 Tue 18-Nov-08 15:02:26

no reply!

hauntedcitylover Tue 18-Nov-08 15:06:11

Slight hijack but

I sent one recently saying 'I heart you ' (I know it's a bit naff ok) in amongst other text (because i felt it was too much to say I love you in the particular circs but still wanted to let them know how I feel).

And they had stopped short of saying it by saying something else which I took to mean they felt alot for me but maybe not love. sad

Do you think they would have realised what I really meant??

Great thread btw

BrokenliSpears Tue 18-Nov-08 15:15:43

My dh is 3500 miles away and I got an 'I love you' back within 4 minutes. Modern technology eh?

Bink Tue 18-Nov-08 15:19:50

Am not doing this
dh would think it was meant for someone else (maybe our nanny, who's my main textee)

idobelieveinghosts Tue 18-Nov-08 15:42:46

DP just phoned to see what time to pick up ds from panto rehersals.....i said 'i text you earlier'..he said 'i didn't get it..what did it say?'..i said 'i love u'..he said 'oh yeah yeah i got it'....there was 'ds finishes at 4.30'....

he text 2 seconds after phonecall with 'love u'...

forgetful?..nah probably scared shitless grin

"How much?"

pellmell Tue 18-Nov-08 15:53:49

I'd love to know what dh's response would be if I sent one asking "what time can I jump on?"
But I might send "i love you" instead grin

oiwhatsoccurring Tue 18-Nov-08 15:55:32

I got - love you too gorgeousness. xxxxxxxxxxx

I am v envy of your romantic spouses.

Mine wouldn't know romance if it bit him square on the bottom.

H e thinks it's romantic to grind his groin into my bottom while I put something in the oven

'me?' 'Why? what have I done?'

saythatagain Tue 18-Nov-08 16:13:09

'Love you too babe. Hows your day been? X'
Immediate response too, which makes it doubly lovely!

FeelingOld Tue 18-Nov-08 16:25:41

AbricotsSecs Tue 18-Nov-08 16:26:44

I just got

"If you really love me you'll get the kids, I am a poorly Daddy today "

LOL! Know what I'll be doing in 5 minutes...

AbricotsSecs Tue 18-Nov-08 16:29:32

When I replied that I would, he sent this back:

"Good girl. I'll still rub your back the right way later. X"

Mitchell81 Tue 18-Nov-08 16:30:00

I got- busy busy, I love you too.
(DH is working in Trinidad and is very busy working out there.)

mosschops30 Tue 18-Nov-08 16:31:51

I would get either 'what have you done'? 'what u after'? or 'can we have nookie later then'?

As none of these apply, Im not playing grin

robino Tue 18-Nov-08 16:32:05

Well, it took 4 hours but "Love you and our monkeys loads xx". Thankfully, he's referring to our two non-sleeping daughters rather than actual primates!

Poledra Tue 18-Nov-08 16:56:57

"He thinks it's romantic to grind his groin into my bottom while I put something in the oven"

Sheik, from the very first thread I ever posted on, I believe the proper MN term for that is 'Jack-Russelling', an activity my DH also believes to be incredibly romantic.

thenewme Tue 18-Nov-08 17:02:31

I haven't heard from my DH at all today. I don't even know if he got to work okay. I just want him home now but I don't want him to ring as I am dreading what he might say. sad

NorkyButNice Tue 18-Nov-08 17:15:29

By phone 5 hours later.

Me : "Did you not get my text"
DH : "The one about toilet paper?"
Me : "No"
[pregnant pause]
DH : "Oh, the one saying you love me?"
ME : "Yes, that one"
DH : "Oh, was I supposed to reply?"

Am very envy at you lot with your porno/romantic replies!

BitOfFun Tue 18-Nov-08 17:25:16

Hi Norky! Poledra- I read all about jack russelling in the how does your dh/dp initiate lovemaking style thread in MN classics, and I cried laughing! So sorry it was before my time, I could have empathized with many a reply, LOL...seriously everyone, do check it out if you are in need of a smile grin

eandh Tue 18-Nov-08 17:38:24

DH not allowed his phone at work but text it anyway, he's been home 2 hours and just noticed it hmm but did grope my bum on the way past the bathroom whilst I was bathing the dd's (he thinks he'll be getting lucky tonight but I'm going out !!)

Kally Tue 18-Nov-08 17:56:08

I text him that already this morning when I woke up. I sent it ages ago and he's just picked up msg. He's not well (got a cold) and at work...

Ha ha ha... he said he loves me too and needs some belly to belly to clear his nose.hmm but I won't see him til the weekend.sad

Bellchops Tue 18-Nov-08 17:57:59

I got 'ditto'. He is forgiven as he's working late tonight and in very bad mood. Usually get a bit more then that. Bless.

poppy34 Tue 18-Nov-08 17:58:09

rofl re jack russelling.. doubt I'd be a good candidate for that.. I've got baby sick on my fleece and my glasses are covered in sweet potato puree spray - I suppose I should clean up really but mn so much better

TinkerBellesMum Tue 18-Nov-08 17:58:23

I'm marking my place on this thread so I know how long it takes to answer and I don't forget to come back...

Chopchopmissy Tue 18-Nov-08 18:01:34

"you are unbelieveably gorgeous and the best wife in the whole wide world. Thank you for being with me and fo all that you do for me. I love you more than words can say"

Whoops I have his phone!

stuffitllama Tue 18-Nov-08 18:02:05

"Why? Why are you telling me that?"

but i did just call it through to the next room instead of texting so maybe it doesn't count

Wallaroo Tue 18-Nov-08 18:03:09

I know and I love your bottom blush grin

HRHSaintMamazon Tue 18-Nov-08 18:04:29

i just got a text saying
"have i told you your beautifull today"

i am soo texting him this again tomorrow grin

dh finally replied "love u 2 honey" but I had to prompt him to look at his phone, so as far as spontaneous outpourings of afffection go, it wasn't overwhelming. But still counting my blessings he actually replied.

muckypups Tue 18-Nov-08 18:08:23

I dunno you send your Dh a text declaring your love and they take it as a pass to go to the pub after work. Well mine did anyway!!!

'Not as much as i love you xxxxxxxx to infinity and beyond.'

ingles2 Tue 18-Nov-08 18:29:21

so I eventually get a reponse.
"why? what have I done?

hedgehog1979 Tue 18-Nov-08 18:50:52

DH has just got home (been out with DS all afternoon) I texted him when I found this thread about 3ish, His snotty response

' you know I can't make outgoing calls/texts why did you waste your money on me' hmmsad

I have 200 free texts every month which I use about 1/4 of so not really a waste

AnneOfAvonlea Tue 18-Nov-08 20:06:12

" And I love you even more, my darling. Boy i'm hungry! "

He's working late and cant have eaten yet.

singyswife Tue 18-Nov-08 20:10:11

My dh's answer always always is ' and so you should, I'm the best thing that ever happened to you' followed by groped breasts. How romantic!!!!!!!!!

MrsPickles Tue 18-Nov-08 20:20:39

We are both at home so I called out to the kitchen "love you". Response: "You love me do you?" [disbelieving tone] Well I love you too [said very forcefully]". DH & I are very competitive - I think he thinks it was some sort of challenge!

Hilarious responses to some of these

lucykate Tue 18-Nov-08 20:23:19

i used to text dh every day with a little message of love (nothing rude though!), he told me to stop doing it as he couldn't be bothered to reply shock

I got 'Soppy. Do some work!'

Best not tell him i'm on MN while he's cooking then...

Scifinerd Tue 18-Nov-08 20:38:14

I got "Are you feeling alright, can I take your temperature?" He also said for a fleeting moment he thought his luck might be in tonight.

Martha200 Tue 18-Nov-08 21:49:55

"I love you too, will be home soon, miss you x"

(he bought me flowers earlier too as an apology for getting frustrated with me yesterday... in the last few days I have managed to lose his keys (misplaced them for a day blush had a little cool bag for baby food stolen (after I lost it from walking from a restaurant to the car) forgotton eldest sons lunch box (had to return home for) getting the theme? I really wonder when my baby brain will go and my old efficent brain will return?? (any ideas?)

pellmell Tue 18-Nov-08 21:57:08

mrspickles-thats so funny I can imagine the scene
"I love you"
"love you more"
"no I love you more"
"no you don't"
"yes I do"
"no you don't, I love you more!"
"oh fuck off"
"no, you fuck off"
No I said it first!

claireyBANG Tue 18-Nov-08 22:03:45

misscathcart Tue 18-Nov-08 22:06:59

I got "you know I love you too. Always. Try to sleep baby xxx"

we are still well and truly in the honeymoon period and send texts like this several times a day. I'm meant to be having an early night as I have flu.

HeinzSight Tue 18-Nov-08 22:09:00

I should add that he is playing Call of Duty on the PS3 grin

nell12 Tue 18-Nov-08 22:24:05

MamaMaiasaura Tue 18-Nov-08 22:28:04

ToughDaddy Tue 18-Nov-08 23:48:42

TinkerBellesMum Tue 18-Nov-08 23:51:23

"Did you get my text?" "Mmm" (yes)

I texted DH at lunchtime. I thought he had ignored it sad but got back home hours later to discover that within five minutes of the text he had left a long message on the landline describing how badly his day was going, with an I love you too at the end.
He got home about half an hour ago and when I asked him why he replied to my text by phoning the landline, he said 'but I didn't know which phone you texted me from'. hmm

PurpleOne Wed 19-Nov-08 01:39:39

am envy of all you people with romance and partners / dh's.

Some classic responses though. Loved poshwellies one!

QwertyQueen Wed 19-Nov-08 05:05:51

DeathByMonkey Wed 19-Nov-08 08:47:51

TwinkleToes76 Wed 19-Nov-08 10:00:15

i got "miss your kiss x", what fun...

Bink Wed 19-Nov-08 10:12:07

So, I told dh about this MN experiment last night, & how I thought he'd think text was for someone else.

Immediate response: "I'd think it was from someone else"

Then, two hours later: "Have you sent me my text yet?"

- which out-sweets quite a lot of this thread

jooseyfruit Wed 19-Nov-08 10:16:15

pokeydot Wed 19-Nov-08 10:26:24

i got "love you too. must be the hair?" he is shaved bald but hasn't managed to shave the last few days so a bit of bristle around the sides which he knows I hate

(we never send texts like these - he was all jolly when I got home so maybe should more often. I did joke him it was meant for someone else and had he got the one I intended to send him about the groceries...)

ToThrottleABlackBird Wed 19-Nov-08 11:49:25

I wrote him a note and put it in his snap box telling him I love him and that he means the world to me. He has texted me today but hasnt mentioned it sad

Buda Wed 19-Nov-08 12:07:28

Didn't get a reply all day yesterday and when he came home last night I told him I had texted him. Said he didn't get it. Turns out he did but hadn't opened it as he thought it was a missed call. So he looked at it here and said 'what brought that on?' and 'what did you buy?'. LOL! I did explain why I did it and he just raised his eyebrows.

Oh - and coincidentally i did buy a new coat yesterday!

pookamoo Wed 19-Nov-08 12:10:48

Clarity2005 Wed 19-Nov-08 12:57:48

I read this with interest yesterday as I had already sent I love you not an hour before reading this and got in reply " Shitter day then yesterday!"

I then told him about his thread and how funny it had been and that it was just as well that wasnt the reason for my text or his un requented love would of been noted, to which he didnt answer me! lol

georgimama Wed 19-Nov-08 13:02:29

SamJohnsMum Wed 19-Nov-08 15:11:55

When he got off of the phone he text me saying "I know. X"

How romantic?!? wink

SneakyTextSender Thu 20-Nov-08 13:08:14

We used to do this quite a lot, but only occasionally these days, and it's always me hmm

madeindevon2 Fri 21-Nov-08 14:54:04

i got

Spaceman Fri 21-Nov-08 14:56:31

Mine was thrilled and rang me up all giggly.

I feel guilty that the idea came from MN and not totally from the heart (although of course i mean it.)

IwishIwasmoreorganised Fri 21-Nov-08 15:00:03

I got "I love you too, as always xx"

Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised - DH isn't known for being able to express himself very well or be remotely romantic!

I got a text back saying ""I love you too, so much xxx" and "thank you for your text, you're so sweet mon amour" in an email. He is French, so the mon amour is totally justified. Aaaaaaah
