.....when you had sex after not having it for a while? I slept with my boyfriend last night (I was a bit rubbish to be honest, doh!) after having not slept with anyone for almost 4 months. I found it quite sore and still feel a little tender today. He is also "bigger" than my previous partners and it took a little getting used to.

Does this sound normal to all you wise Mumsnetters??

Umm sounds like you may have been nervous and not quite as lubricated as you needed to be. Next time, why not experiment with some KY jelly. I think it's fairly normal not to have a great time first time with someone knew.

The day after you ride a horse for the first time you'll be sore too, apparently

Natural for your fanjo to feel sore after not having much oaky-kokey action in 4 months! Wouldn't worry to much!

Phewee, good tip about the KY, will remember that for next time. I was pretty nervous obviously because of the fact that it was with a new person and also had been having some "plumbing" probs, which, fingers crossed, seem to have cleared up! MN always has the answers!

I agree with whomovedmychocolate, I was the same when I got with my bf & being nervous is prob why you felt you were rubbish too! I'm sure you weren't and you'll enjoy it more if you chill out and relax.

KY jelly or any water based lubricant can be a real help especially if he's bigger than what you've been used to in the past. Durex do all sorts of types I think they're called sensations..... warm, tingly & another one, play I think. I wouldn't recommend the warm one but the others are good for abit of lubrication with fun included! Just make sure they're safe to use with condoms as not all lubricant is!

Soreness could be down to 1st time in a while or his size, try having a nice warm bath after if you can it helps with the soreness

Without wishing to be insulting or gross anyone out, you may have a touch of thrush which can make your fanjo a bit sore particularly when you get some willy action for the first time in a while. Also, as others have said, the first bonk in ages can sometimes mean you're not quite relaxed enough so some lube would help. Also some positions can be a bit rougher than others (doggy style can be hard on the fanjo or so I have found whoops, sorry for over-sharing)

Madamez, not grossed out at all, pretty sure I don't have thrush, but had just come off AF though, and that leaves me a little tender at times. Soooo agree about the positions thing, from behind is not the most comfy for me, but ALL blokes love it. Typical! lol.

Good idea about the warm bath LS, should have thought of that, doh! Well I may have been a bit rubbish, but he still seems keen on me, so hurrah for that!
