If you could go back and do it all again, would you still get married?

Did your wedding go how you hoped it would?

arriving at the church for the rehearsal the night before the wedding 200 miles from home and finding we hadn't had the banns read so couldn't get married was a bit of a shock

Yes and yes.
Didn't especially enjoy the wedding, don't like
being the centre of attention. Have been married more or less happily for nearly
12 years. It hasn't always been easy but I think my life has been happier being married and a mother than being single.

Yes, I'd still marry dh, but I'd scrub his parents off the invite list!!

My wedding day was the best ever!! I never had a full on plan, I just wanted the basics, that way if anything went wrong I wouldn't know IYSWIM.
The only thing that spoilt the day was my nerves, the day passed so quickly I wish I could do it all over again x That was 6 years ago

Got married in secret, 2 weeks after going out together...minimum fuss, minimum expense...been married for over 9 years now and have lovely DS.....would do same thing all over again - big weddings are too stressful!

am getting married in 3 and a bit weeks. very nervous about the actual vows bit- i'm very emotional at the best of times, but being pregnant has made it twice as bad!

it started to feel real at the weekend- i suddenly thought 'oh my god, i'm really getting married!'...can't wait for it.

It'll all be fine. Baby was going nuts inside me whilst I was having hair & make up done - he knew
Small downside was I could only have 1 or 2 drinks.

Good luck pg. I had a lovely wedding, would do it all again and it was a great day. Re, feeling emotional. I was an emotional wreck leading up to it and still can't listen to the song my dh composed for me to walk down the aisle to without blubbing but on the day.... cool as a cucumber. Just try to relax and enjoy your day.

Would I marry my first husband - no - but I know why I did it. Wedding was nice. Should have thought about my underwear beforehand - I will say only that it was the last time I was photographed 'dressed up' without a proper bra on!

Would I marry my second husband - yes. Wedding was lovely. Caterers massively overcatered, so would have either asked them to put up the leftovers for my freezer, or got a charity to come and pick them up, if poss.

I think someone you feel comfortable with to go up the aisle/go into the register office with is absolutely essential as I was v nervous both times.

I love being married and would marry dh again tomorrow despite some really tough times already. In fact we are doing it again - we're having a little church blessing literally just for us at the end of the month.

Congratulations! And it's worth writing down what you remember at the end of the day, esp the funny stuff, as you won't remember much of it for long.

Would definitely get married again - but would not let my mother (dressmaker) take my original design idea - remember Lady Sarah Chattos dress? and turn it into a puffy sleeved frock-coat
