DH moved out over a month ago and nothing has changed... I'm doing all the shopping, housework, cooking, child ferrying, ironing... because I always have.
But in another way everything has... I've also had a visit to an old friend, a Friday night in peace and my first lie in, in years so on balance I've lost nothing. I don't have to produce dinner every night. If I want I can have a fried egg.. or tomato soup.. or toast. I'm only clearing up after 3 people, not 4. I don't have anyone criticizing me or undermining me or saying that I'm oversensitive because it was only a joke or ignoring me for days.
So I just want to say THANK YOU, Anyfucker, Hellsbellsmelons and everyone else who gave me advice over a year ago.
Because thanks to you all I have started the rest of my life, I am showing my daughter a good example and I am teaching my son how to use an iron.

That's great! I'm going to ask DH to leave in January - and I'm looking forward to a calm, stress free house. Watching the relationships threads have been empowering and eye opening.
It's lovely seeing someone happy after ditching 15st of dead weight Wink

I thought I would be far sadder and lonelier than I am. In fact it is far sadder to be lonely when you are meant to be with someone else and they ignore your feelings.
Please take heart, anyone else who is aIn a relationship which is all give and nothing in return. You deserve better.

Well done for LTB. I could have written your post! I'm in the same boat, with 2 DC under 3. It is actually no harder to be a single mum when you have had an unsupportive ex-p! Mine was abusive too.
