Of course he forgot my birthday.

On/off and never properly together for over 3 years. Lived together. No kids. He would never commit and got with other women. It's my birthday and he's said nothing. Of course he's said nothing, he's never acknowledged my birthday or got me anything.

Maybe this time I can get rid.

This is not a relationship

Yes, you should get rid and find someone who values you

Yes, make it your birthday present to yourself. The rest of your life without this millstone.

You're not still with him are you? The birthday thing could be forgivable but not seeing other women

Doesn't sound promising...

What do you do for his birthday?

Report
PeteSwotatoes · 28/11/2016 12:24

I got him a present for each birthday. Stupidly.

You are just the Fall Back Girl

Stop taking him back when he shags about. Ignore this "we wuz on a break" nonsense.

He's a Shagger and you are allowing it. He's not even a charming Shagger, he's just shit.

Thanks AF, you're right. I keep making excuses for it but there is no excuse.

Have a read of this, OP

You are worth so much more than the crumbs from this man's table.

I've been reading her books for a while - she's a brilliant author. For some reason it's not stuck. I think I need to make the change today and move on with my life.

Oh, fuck him off. Give yourself a birthday gift, get rid of this millstone.

Go buy yourself an epically awesome birthday present. Show yourself some love, relax, feel great and then throw the toad to the curb.

PS Happy Birthday Cake

Ok well you get him a birthday pressie every year, he gets you nothing.... I think you know what you need to do. You sound like a generous person, you deserve better than this guy. He is not treating you right. I would move on. Flowers

He didn't forget your birthday. He ignored it.
Ghost him. You can't really dump him, you're not in a relationship.

Happy birthday OP.

He just messaged me and complained he was feeling ill. I said "ok", he asked what was up. I said "you forgot my birthday again".

I got sent back: "no hun I didn't. That's why I was messaging you. Oh whatever have a nice day speak to you later".

Mind games every time

So his birthday message to you was to tell you that he's feeling ill? He's said it himself. "Oh, whatever". He's started drawing the line for you - finish it.

You obviously have deep feelings for him, making this a painful situation, but the reality is that this relationship is over. He's treating you badly and you are having your time wasted. Rip the plaster off - end it.

Thanks MNers. I had an amazing day with friends and family. I don't need him. When we got together I'd just escaped an abusive relationship and got out of hospital for severe depression. I'm happy now. I've got a new career. I don't need him.
