Not in judgement, but in memory

I normally post on the MH pages to help people who are going through depression, but the thread, "Please Don't Judge" caught my attention. It bought back memories of 40 years ago when I first made love to my then girlfriend.

She was stunning and knew it, I was full of hormones and so was she. We took the chance at my house when parents were out for the evening and headed towards my bedroom. Our brains dived into our undies so we took them off and hopped into bed. We didn't use protection. We could so easily have become teenage parents. There but for good fortune went the pair of us.

Up to then everyone had been telling us that sex is verbotten. Sex outside marriage is immoral. You should not do it until you are married.. You can catch all sort of VD (pre aids and herpes).

What no one was saying was making love is wonderful and that your body just wants it soooooo much. That you really will loose any sense of intelligence when you are close to someone. (That went for the both of us) and that your sex drive really is quite powerful.

Obviously the world has changed since then. We now have internet porn and most teenagers have probably seen it before becoming sexually active. Reading the thread, I do wonder if we are helping children prepare for adult life, (indeed a good friend's eldest got pregnant) and if not how can we do a better job.

I didn't see, or don't remember, that thread, which has been deleted I think?

I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at as a consequence. But I do feel great sadness that yp don't, generally, understand the difference between making love and raw sex. Both have their place but perhaps sex is no longer forbidden, as acceptable as blowing your nose, that there can be little anticipation or delight.

Just a thought.

As I said, there but for good fortune went us.

We could so easily have become teenage parents. It would have been a disaster as in the long run we could not have made a go of it. I know that to be the case as we still keep in touch about every four or five years and I can now see she was right to end it. It was a wonderful time even though it didn't last. I just felt sad for the OP from the other thread.

I do think you have a good point, that when sex becomes normal, like blowing your nose? it may loose its wonder.

I'm not sure if you're aware, OP, but your thread somehow comes across as extremely creepy.

What is your point OP?

I don't understand this thread. So you liked having sex as a teenager (shock horror) and are glad you didn't get her pregnant (more shock.) It's stating the obvious, isn't it?

Glad it wasn't just me that found this creepy. Reminded me of a sleazy bloke I used to work with hmm

It's as delicate as a gossamer feather, being blown gently on a summer's breeze.
