Awkward dating experiences

Are these normal? I've recently had a bad experience and I feel awkward and embarrassed by the whole thing. I am not young but inexperienced at dating and a bit uneducated/naive about the whole thing. I'm not looking for anyone now but I'm trying get my head round a recent experience that is bugging me. I asked a man on a date and I knew he wasn't kind or the type of personality I like. The physical attraction was strong though and I felt extremely attracted to him and enjoyed kissing etc. Anyway there were some misunderstandings on the next couple of meetings. It didn't work out. Due to misunderstandings and him being cold and going a little quiet. But also I knew he wasn't good news or what I needed. But now I feel embarrassed. I'm not sure why exactly. I think it's because he went a bit quiet (may just be busy though). I kept up communication with casual "how are you" type messages. He then invited me to hang out. But I then made a joke about something and he got cross. Anyway I blocked him after this as it's just weird. But I feel stupid. I'm not embarrassed that he didn't like me as he did definitely fancy me. but never complimented me. Mind fuck. Want him out my head. I don't like the feeling of being misunderstood or mistreated by him. And also had a couple of really good nights and I keep hearing a song that brings back to that night and makes me want to capture that moment again. So confusing. Sorry.
