Not sure how to deal with this

I posted previously about a guy at work, the messages we had exchanged etc and the general consensus seemed to be he's a bit of a player. I read your replies and a lot of them made sense and I tried to be strong and keep things professional. He has continued to message me before/after work, plus evenings and weekends, but the tone has changed. We've been talking about our childhoods, our problems and today I told him about some issues with my ex and he said that he's there for me, I can talk to him any time. I was kind of learning to deal with things if he had just been a "player", but now this is getting a bit deeper and I'm worried I might actually fall for him. He's just being too - nice. Help! What do I do now?

Err but that's the players script??

I'm sure others will be able to explain better.

So, you didn't take the advice you were given then ?

And here you are.

Is there a point to this thread ?

The advice was to take a step back, try to keep it professional, to stop with the flirting. I did all that. But as I say, he kept contacting me. I made sure the messages didn't go down the flirty route again. He hit a nerve today. Sorry, it's a long time since I've been single and this is all taking some getting used to. Sorry if this seems a pointless thread, but it isn't to me.

Oh give over. You are lapping it up. If you want just one person to say he might be your soul mate after all, you have come to the wrong place.

He sounds perfect and is completely genuine in this new approach.

Honestly though, he's just trying another way to get you interested. Nothing good will come of this if you let yourself fall for it.
