Stupid crush on colleague

Hope someone's been on the same boat. I recently returned to work after mat leave and have had a chance to work with a senior colleague couple of times on a project. This is insane as I found myself crushing on him like a schoolgirl ever since. I'm terrified I'll say something stupid when he passes by so don't even make eye contact if I can help it. I want to speak to him but don't want to at the same time if it makes sense
. DH is lovely so I have no intention of acting on it. It's silly as I want to get over him but look forward to seeing him everyday. He is a quiet guy himself so has never given any signs as such except maybe a few glances now and then. Will I ever get over this given I see him everyday or are there any tips so I can talk to him normally without making it obvious?

No advice I'm afraid but I just wanted to say I can relate to every word of your post! It's an odd feeling, I go between wanting to be as far away from him as possible to looking forward to going into work Blush. I read somewhere that imagining your crush on the toilet or picking his nose can help you to get over it!
I'm embarrassed to admit I'm making a lot more effort with my apperance now for work.

Blushyou've just described me.

I have a stupid school girl type crush on a senior colleague where I work thankfully or not I don't have to deal with him every shift I work. It's not even really down to his appearance although it's not bad he just has this presence when he walks in the room and a certain authority.
I absolutely adore my DH so would never ever ever go there and to be honest even the little crush makes me feel a bit guilty.

I'm now on maternity leave so hoping I'll get over it whilst pushing out a baby etc etc

There's lots of threads on here about exactly this.

Very normal, enjoy the thrill, don't let on, and avoid him if it starts to feel too urgent.
