Previous traumatic abusive relationship?... What does it take to 'try again'?...

It's been almost 7 years... I've met one or two guys, been talked into one or two dates, but honestly - I don't feel like I'm ever going to get anywhere close to another relationship... I'm too damn scared Sad
There must be quite a few people in the same situation? How do you think they cope/get past their fears and insecurities? Or if it's you who has been there - how are you getting on? Is there any hope for me?

Have you done anything to work on yourself since (in the last 7 years)?
Have you done the Freedom Programme?
Had counselling / therapy?

Hi hbm, no I haven't - I can't afford counselling/therapy... womens aid never offered me any so I assume it's not something I can get for 'free'?
Have just googled the freedom programme... Will read up on that - thank you!
There's alot of advice out there for these situations, but doesn't seem to be much in the way of therapy... maybe I am just not looking in the right places?...
