I did Match last year and it was good tbf . Just curious now and fancy a change .
Looked at Zoozk but they want £30 if I pay monthly !
Eharmony keeps saying I'm not single ( which I am ! ) and therefore don't fit their criteria , and I don't have a clue how to change that .

Any recommendations ?
TIA
I'm 45 btw X

Depends on where you live.

I find these days the paid sites are no better than the free ones. Often those on match are also on tinder and pof.

Personally for me tinder is the best site, it has a decent amount of eligible men and you can't see when someone is online so it kind of keep something a little private.

Pof gets lots of traffic, but it also gets lots of weirdos. Plenty of freaks as my friend calls it. I've had a few decent dates from pof though.

I met my husband on OK Cupid. I liked the app for that more than Pof which I was on at the same time.

Also met a few guys that ended up being good friends. Had to wade through a few frogs at the same time though!

Tinder - it's free and it's fun!

EHarmony was a waste of time and money and only generated one nice, but unsuccessful, date. Match again gave me a couple of nice dates but nothing long term. OKCupid gave me one fling and met DP...we were a 97% match which turned out to be pretty accurate. I preferred OKC out of all of them, liked the formula/ease of use.

I joined Zoosk and don't really like it.
Elle I'll swap to Cupid when I get a chance ( and when I've used up the paid for month ) .
It seems very complicated .
Could be just me tho !

I met my boyfriend in POF after a few dates with some weirdos. We've been together for 18 months and couldn't be happier. You have to have a little perseverance with online dating. Good luck

I used Guardian Soulmates and met current partner of 5ish years.

Obviously, people will always advocate the service that was successful for them, and I will admit I was lucky, and my information is now 5 years out of date.

Pros: As a paid-for service you can search for free but need to pay to be able to message, so spam was low (I can't actually remember any). Messages were generally polite and articulate. Met 1 guy before current: he was nice, but not for me.

Cons: Unless you're in London, number of users is low. Where I was it wouldn't take long to make your way through the compatible options. But you can just pay for a month or two to try that out, then stop paying unless there are new people.

Political bias, certain type of person: pro or con depending on where you lean.

For free I like OKCupid. I like the personality questions as it means you can weed out anyone racist, homophobic, etc.

Tinder is easy to use and can be fun merrily swiping right and left, but the lack of advanced search means you can't weed out, for example, smokers.

I use Times Encounters as I had a special offer for 3 months membership plus 3 months worth of Times + for about £30. There are a lot of London members. I've had it two weeks and have had one date, but I'm picky.

I tried GSM but there were few men in my area. Looks good if you're in London though.
