I woke at 8.23am to find an empty bed and empty house.

DP had taken the 3 dsc out to a footie club this morning, allowing me a nice peaceful lie in.

It wasn't a lie in as I got up to a messy house and immediately started cleaning. But, the sentiment was there and I am grateful.

No cards or anything exchanged which is fine. It's our anniversary next weekend which we tend to save the celebrations for.

My dp made us a fancy 3 course meal last night. Prawns, duck then gin and tonic tart! We had prosecco, gin, cocktails and danced together all night. Had such a laugh! I wrote him a poem. We are having the leftover tart for brekkie hehe!

What did you all do for your other halfs?
We do these things most days so Sad Valentines day means nothing to us.
I know who is is anyway, he's hardly an admirer from a distance after 24 years of marriage.

Two days ago, an advert came on did Lidl flowers, new boyfriend said "we're not doing that shit are we?" and I was filled with the warm glow of compatibility as we laughed about how little we care for the concept.
Then he told me about the fab brunch he had planned for the next (non Valentine) day. Because he or I often to stuff like that.
Each to their own, but I'm glad I've stumbled upon a man with similar views about commercialised nonsense Grin

Need to see the clock!

We don't "do" valentines day. Don't buy into it. And as cheesy as it sounds we're constantly getting each other treats and always make sure the other knows how much we appreciate them and love them. Just another day in the offside household Smile

I got a lie-in (well, it was my turn anyway) but also salmon and muffins. I've not actually got him anything, though that was partly because all the cards I saw were crap!

Shock at cat clock.
DH got up with the baby so I could sleep. Later I am cooking a Caribbean themed feast and making pina coladas. We went to Barbados on honeymoon this year and conceived the baby so I want to make a romantic meal to remember our honeymoon and celebrate the birth of the baby too.
