has anyone ever made a bad relationship come good?

How?

I had an amazing DH for years then he became pretty crappy to me after some stressful life events and we're both different people but I'm holding on, not wanting to let go - convinced somehow we will turn it around yet...

Just wondering if anyone can say it's actually possible to save once it's gone bad - or is gone bad, ultimately forever doomed?

I think it may depend on the things you have been through.... When you get married or even in a relationship you want it to work so much and I honestly think strong people continue to make it work .... I'm not sure if you maybe just need some space from each other x

He's been really horrendous. Things I would never put up with in a relationship, were it not for our history and the fear that nobody else could ever comprehend what we went through, I don't want to let go as he's the only person who shared those experiences but I also know it's bad (not dv) but very definitely unhealthy.

Yet I know he can be a good person, even a really great person - because he was (for years)

If you split you would still have shared those same experiences

Don't stay because of the past....look forward. Do you want to be with a person who acts like he does ?

You wouldn't put up with it in other circumstances

You probably shouldn't put up with it at all
