Found condoms

Been married 5 years and have a one year old. OT works away a lot and found a packet of jokey leprechaun condoms in an overnight bag. He said he bought them for a mate. Not sure what to think. The fact that they're jokey ones means it's totally plausible. I know he fancies a girl in work but she's Muslim and can't see her straying. He's also very shy and it took him years to ask me out.

Hopefulnewbie Fri 15-Jan-16 23:15:03

I think that he could be telling the truth.

I've heard the same bullshit "they were for a friend', load of bollocks I'm afraid

I never ever known a straight man buy condoms for another man. Ever. They might talk about them but to pay good money? No.

And who's this woman he fancies? Did he tell you that?

His boundaries are shot.

posh wank probably wouldn't buy novelty condoms to try and impress another woman I doubt. I'd believe him if there's nothing else making you suspicious.

Rella - Sorry to hear your dilemma

It does sound like a load of nonsense to me too - Sorry

BUT as a straight man I have bought comedy condoms for a mate as part of
a stag do "stag pack"

sije Fri 15-Jan-16 23:23:33

Imperial are you laughing at my naivety?

Rella1965 Fri 15-Jan-16 23:24:33

The box just had pictures of leprechauns on yes he had been in Ireland... Couldn't tell you if they were teeny tiny. They were All there though. Yes he told me he fancied another woman, but I don't know what to think. She's a Muslim girl and I just don't think she fancies him at all.

Leelu6 Fri 15-Jan-16 23:31:07

How do you you feel about him fancying another woman?

you're ok with him fancying another woman because you trust her as a muslim not to stray? could you just step back and think about that a second?

you don't trust him and you're hoping you can trust her because she is a muslim

you poor girl

CrystalMcPistol Fri 15-Jan-16 23:42:46

If he was buying condoms to use surely he'd just have bought ordinary condoms.

Thenightswatch Fri 15-Jan-16 23:47:00

This is all very odd hmm do male friends often buy each other joke condoms? I wouldn't buy my female friends leprechaun sex toysconfused

Also he told you he fancies another woman? I don't doubt my DH looks at other women, but if he told me he fancied a woman he sees on a daily basis I definitely wouldn't be ok with it.

AdoraBell Fri 15-Jan-16 23:47:24

Joke condoms aside, he told you he fancies someone elseconfused? That would be a bigger issue for me.

Is this a serious relationship or does he view you more as a mate, as in pal?

NeedsAsockamnesty Fri 15-Jan-16 23:47:51

The condoms wouldn't bother me at all neither would him fancying someone else.

You not being bothered because you trust her (as opposed to him) is strange

Uh-oh

My friends husband was caught trying to meat up with other women online. She only found out because she kept an eye on what he was up to after finding condoms in his work overnight bag.

Furiosa Sat 16-Jan-16 00:07:17

Whoops!

"Meat up" should of course read as "meet up"

Hell of a Freudian slip, sorry OP!
