Relationship in trouble

Me and my DP are having a tough time at the moment. He has started a new job and made new friends. He's all of a sudden become very interested in religion and spirituality. He's always talking about how I cause him stress and how he doesn't need it in his life anymore.

I'm trying so hard to work through this but it seems one way. Last night he said he doesn't want to be with me and that our relationship is worthless.

Should I just give up? We have a DD and usually he is a great guy it's just recently all his new interests causing issues. Any advice?

What sort of religion and spirituality are we talking about? Has he become involved with a sect?

If you have a DD and he's a good dad, I would probably ask if he was prepared to try counselling before just splitting forever, and make it clear that I was prepared to hear his feelings and make reasonable changes if necessary - provided he was also prepared to do so for me.

If he won't even consider counselling then I really don't know what else you can do.

I would point out the difference between life causing stress and you causing him stress.

I'd also make it very clear that I was not to be used as a scap goat for general stresses and he's free to leave if he's going to apportion blame unfairly.
