It feels like my step-father is harrassing me

My poor old mum died at the beginning of February, aged only 72, leaving behind her younger husband, of 67, who she was married to for 38 years. He, obviously, has been devastated, but over the last month, I am finding aspects of his behaviour more and more worrying.

I am now getting texts from him with 'Love you' at the end of them and he is talking about having an ideal of what the future would be, which I have a creepy feeling is me stepping into my Mums shoes.

Last night after me cooking tea at home for him and my DS, he went to kiss me on my cheek to say good-bye and he as he touched my ribs I jumped and moved away and he stormed off then sending me text messages saying that he obviously revolts me. Not what you'd expect from a 'step father'.

I am divorced, aged 54 with a partner who does not live with me and I am feeling vulnerable. I know that my sensitivity to this is heightened as he used to try and harass me as a teenager. All of this is bringing back some very miserable and frightening times.

If you don't like the way he behaves around you, do not have him around.

You really don't have to put yourself in out for tis man, who clearly is creepy and has no respect for your personal boundaries.

He may have been married to your DM for 38 years, that's lovely. You do not have to put up with him for that tho.

Keep contact to non physical if you want, drop him an occasional email/phone whatever. If he can't keep his hands to himself don't put up with it out of a sense of misplaced obligation because he used to be married to your DM.

OK well I'm basing this on all the men I know. If they touched you accidentally and you jumped, they'd immediately apologise, not storm off and send stupid messages.

Could you only invite him when your partner is there?

Just re-read your post - he used to try to harass you as a teenager? What the hell? What did he do? Do you really want contact with him?

Hi Poppysquad - we're just going to pop this over to a more appropriate topic so you can get the best response.
