Opinions please: I got this text from the guy I have been seeing for a few months. Is he being really nice or is this a 'it's been nice knowing you' text?
I had a good time as well. You are really a great person and I am so so glad to have meet you!!!!

I really like him, my instinct is to call him and ask- but I really don't want to come across as insecure.

ALaughAMinute Thu 30-Apr-15 20:53:12

Sounds very positive to me. Did he say anything else?

HappyGirlNow Thu 30-Apr-15 21:00:52

Why would you think that could be negative? confused

Don't call and ask him, he'll think you've lost the plot grin

lostheloveofmylife Thu 30-Apr-15 21:06:02

Thank you- I was hoping I was just having a moment. He is so nice, I am totally falling for him.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp Thu 30-Apr-15 21:08:34

You would come across as insecure so don't question it- do you think things are going well? Do you think he's a great person and are glad to have met him too?

If so just keep enjoying it grin

pocketsaviour Thu 30-Apr-15 21:36:59

He doesn't know the difference between "met" and "meet" LTB

Just kidding, he sounds great. Enjoy! grin

lostheloveofmylife Thu 30-Apr-15 22:08:32

Ha, yes I held myself back from correcting the typo. I do think he is a great person and I am overjoyed that I met him. I just keep thinking he's going to change his mind about me! I guess that's what comes from 17 years in a terrible marriage does to you. Thanks for the replies though- Any tips on how to be keen but cool gratefully received!!

ImperialBlether Thu 30-Apr-15 22:14:43

It sounds an odd text, tbh. Was it in response to something you sent him?

HappyGirlNow Thu 30-Apr-15 22:16:35

What's odd about it??! Nothing odd in my opinion. He's just saying he likes her and is glad he met her...

ImperialBlether Thu 30-Apr-15 22:18:46

I meant, he said, "I had a good time as well." I was asking whether that was in response to something she said.

CtrlAltDelicious Thu 30-Apr-15 22:18:59

I don't think it's odd at all. Sounds like a text from a man who's really glad he's found someone he clicks with!

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Hassled Thu 30-Apr-15 22:23:33

Sounds to me like he likes you a lot. Don't call and ask - just carry on as per normal.

lostheloveofmylife Thu 30-Apr-15 23:02:31

Yes, it was in response to my text saying 'thanks, it was lovely to see you.' after we had gone out for a drink.

ImperialBlether Thu 30-Apr-15 23:12:31

Well, why the worry, then?

Read them through again:

You said: Thanks, it was lovely to see you.

He replied: I had a good time as well. You are really a great person and I am so so glad to have meet you!!!!

How can you misinterpret that? Just enjoy having a lovely time with him!

ashtrayheart Thu 30-Apr-15 23:16:49

If he was saying 'nice to have known you but goodbye' I don't think he would have added the effusive 'so so glad'. He sounds too enthusiastic for it to be negative.

Keen as mustard.

pocketsaviour Fri 01-May-15 14:06:09

If you want to reply I would just say something like "Me too smile Do you fancy meeting up for dinner next week?"

upaladderagain Fri 01-May-15 19:47:16

Oh, somebody has knocked your confidence so badly that you can't recognise an honest, positive response. What he says is what he means. See him again, like pocket suggests, and have a great time together.

lostheloveofmylife Fri 01-May-15 20:29:05

You are all right. Thank you! I am seeing him tonight smile This morning he sent me a link to a song he likes. He is funny and kind and very sexy.

Is English his first language?
