What is a 'bob'?

Pooka Sun 20-Jul-14 18:06:11

A perm?

HumblePieMonster Sun 20-Jul-14 18:06:31

i was going to ask the same question.

it meant 'to defecate', in other families, when i was a child. we didn't say that.

HumblePieMonster Sun 20-Jul-14 18:07:01

oh, as a teenager, a 'bob' was a short haircut, straight at the bottom, like a shorter pageboy.

EveMarieSaint Sun 20-Jul-14 18:07:02

A shilling?

pictish Sun 20-Jul-14 18:07:17

You'll have to tell us what a bob is, I'm afraid. I only know it as a hairdo.

HumblePieMonster Sun 20-Jul-14 18:07:34

grin yes, and it was a shilling too. two bob, even.

and it was the scary guy from twin peaks.

Blithereens Sun 20-Jul-14 18:07:46

I think the OP means 'battery operated boyfriend'.

HumblePieMonster Sun 20-Jul-14 18:07:55

is it a wank?

EveMarieSaint Sun 20-Jul-14 18:08:27

Ohhhhhh.

StandsOnGoldenSands Sun 20-Jul-14 18:08:47

I get it cut really short right up the back.

You mean hairstyle right?

HumblePieMonster Sun 20-Jul-14 18:09:26

oh my! cross post. a 'battery operated boyfriend'? never heard that one before. blush
well, that might be fun but it can't make a cup of tea afterwards. you need a teasmade, too.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever Sun 20-Jul-14 18:09:58

Is this a duplicate thread?

pictish Sun 20-Jul-14 18:09:59

Oh I seeeeee...
I don't think anyone should accept a sexless relationship, unless that's what they both want and are happy with. Otherwise it's miserable isn't it?
11 years is a long time to go without if you want it.

EveMarieSaint Sun 20-Jul-14 18:10:24

To answer your original question, OP, have you considered divorce?

Blithereens Sun 20-Jul-14 18:11:18

I'd never heard it before but I just googled it and there it was!

OP, have you tried couples' therapy? There are people who specialise in these issues.

Of course you can't - you poor thing.
What does he have to say on the subject? Surely he must understand how unfulfilling it is for you?

BobPatandIgglePiggle Sun 20-Jul-14 18:15:58

People are not taking the piss - just wondering.

Your title refers to 'a bob' and we don't know what it means

If you could clarify then people can help.

It's not just sex by the sound of it you sound lonely and rejected on other levels. It might suit your H to downplay the importance of sex to keep avoid confrontation but if you're unhappy you shouldn't lie to yourself about what you miss.

EveMarieSaint Sun 20-Jul-14 18:18:21

There's only so much trying you can do, though. He has to be willing to change something.

maras2 Sun 20-Jul-14 18:18:28

I still don't know WTAF a BOB is.

EveMarieSaint Sun 20-Jul-14 18:19:04

RTFT - battery operated boyfriend.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles Sun 20-Jul-14 18:19:27

Did something happen 11 years' ago that you know of? Wondering if something triggered this.
