lol - mademan I love it!!

Are you the only man on here?

I presume you are a man!!

MadeMan · 19/04/2014 12:26

Yes I am a man, but I'm not the only man on here, there are a few others that post around.

OP posts:
fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 12:26

Hahahaha mademan I read that in the 'Soap' voice (if anyone can remember that series)!

louby44 · 19/04/2014 12:32

So madman how are you finding OLD from a male perspective!

I looked at a 32 year old woman's profile (she was promoting an event on POF) I was just curious as to what other women were doing/saying on the OLD sites - it was all boobs and pouting! Heavy make up, legs on show, groups of friends with her in a bar all holding wine glasses!!

The complete opposite to my profile!

UrsulaBuffay · 19/04/2014 12:38

I do think if we read a load of comments from men commenting on how unattractive certain women are, how freaky others are, we'd all have a load of catbum mouths

fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 12:41

Oh god louby!! Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong! My close up face pic looks good, and have had a fair bit of interest. But after showing interest in a few guys, they've checked out my profile and then nothing! Zilch. Nada.

Seems the ones I like don't like me! Confused

SuperFlyHigh · 19/04/2014 12:42

made Man love it!

So far match Crapfinity not yielding any good uns. None who've messaged me are my type all look older and I'm a 42 year old but quite blonde and young with it.

Do you think some younger men (as the 39-40ish age bracket don't seem to be there much) look at a 42 year old and just see the age?!

louby44 · 19/04/2014 12:43

fifty NO don't do any pouting lol - I think it looks so silly. I'll have a look at your profile if you want. Not that I'm an expert lol!!

Am off on my walk shortly - date #2 - eek!

SuperFlyHigh · 19/04/2014 12:45

fifty was gonna post the same as you!

Maybe I should shove my flirty Ibiza pic on match as the other 2 are nice but maybe not flirty enough Confused

fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 12:46

I think so Super I'm considering changing my age om Match, I'd pass for at least 5 years younger! But then that's dishonest and years ago, I sacked a guy off for doing that!

God, I never knew it would be this hard, I get no shortage of 'looks' when out and about but once past 45 men just seem so OLD...Jan45 made this observation on the last thread....that women seem to take better care of themselves.

fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 12:48

oh...good luck louby Grin

itwillgetbettersoon · 19/04/2014 12:52

I agree that women over 45 look after themselves better. I'm 49 and OD all I seem to get are hairy truckers (who are obviously parked up in the layby at the end if the road and are on Tinder), men too far away ( so you do wonder if the like just to boost their ego if they get a match) and old looking 47 year olds. I've only been on tinder a few mths so I'm not taking it too seriously but boy there is certainly a draught of decent looking late 40s early 50s decent men.

MadeMan · 19/04/2014 12:56

Louby that's probably not a bad idea, checking other women's profiles. Smile

I'm not online dating at the moment, but I was signed up to Match a few years ago for a while and at one point I created a free female profile to steal ideas check on the male competition and see what they had all put in their profiles. I don't recall any men with fish holding pictures, most seemed to be photos of them with a scenic view in the background like a mountain.

Evening classes haven't been mentioned for a while as a dating source, but I have tried various ones at times which I've generally found to be either full of older retired men, or married mums who use the classes to get out of the house as a social escape. Therefore I don't recommend doing classes unless you really love the subject and that's the main purpose of you going. Don't take up Saturday morning Judo just on the off chance of meeting that special someone.

fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 13:01

itwillgetbettersoon I'll second that with bells on!!

SuperFlyHigh · 19/04/2014 13:04

fifty I'm exactly same as you, no shortage of looks and approaches and to he honest I may just keep it real life.

My main problem sometimes is I freeze or go shy when a normal man approaches me when I'm out unless I've had more than a few g&ts!

fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 13:05

right, so I've just posted a flirtyISH pic of me from my facebook. Unfortunately 'blown up' I'm clearly pissed looking jaded, but I don't think you can enlarge the thumbnail pics on Match, so I might get away with it!! Grin

MadeMan · 19/04/2014 13:06

"Maybe I should shove my flirty Ibiza pic on match..."

You could probably get away with just putting on your profile, "Hey guys, message me for my flirty Ibiza pic ;-) " Smile

OP posts:
fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 13:07

super I have no problem in RL if I'm approached. Sadly I have zero social nightlife, so the opportunity never presents itself these days.

MadeMan · 19/04/2014 13:13

"...but I don't think you can enlarge the thumbnail pics on Match..."

Used to be able to click on the thumbnails and enlarge them. I wouldn't just assume that all those men can't see your high definition jaded self somehow.

OP posts:
fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 13:15

MadeMan I think it only enlarges to the size of your main pic. I tried it and that's all that happened. Also tried it with a guy's pic on Match, it only seems to enlarge to Main Pic size (not full screen IYSWIM).

fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 13:19

Oh god...now I'm not so sure!!! Shock

If you're not 100 per cent happy with a photo fifty then it might be best not to upload it.

OP posts:
fiftyandfab · 19/04/2014 13:36

Ha ha MadeMan too late! Have tried to remove it but it's still being moderated so I can't do anything with it yet! Damn!

Denton2406 · 19/04/2014 13:48

Mademan - lol that is so funny at start of thread! Have to admit, the thought of men stood at urinals clicking like on me on Tinder doesn't do it for me funnily enough, gross!
