The Brave Babes Battle Bus - A New Year, A New YOU!

New Year Resolutions Anyone?

Welcome one and all, I'm Mouse, nice to meet YOU. :)

This is a thread for those who want to give up drink completely, or are maybe thinking about doing controlled drinking, or cutting down slowly, it's all up to you.

You know your limits, you know what is required, it's in YOUR hands.

Whatever your goal, you'll find unconditional support here. Always.

There will be talk of drinking quite often and those who fall off the Bus will post about it, so if that is going to jeopardise your chances of complete sobriety, then maybe the DRY threads would suit you better, as they are complete abstainers, but EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE :)

There are no hard and fast rules, other than the support here is unconditional, it may be in the form of tough love at times, but it's always meant with the very best of intentions.

There are two sayings that we rather like here -

    • The Vulnerable Need Our Support, Not Our Judgement

    • Alcohol Fosters Inertia

For those of you who'd like some history, here is the very first thread and the reason that we're all here now. FIRST THREAD

And here is the lastest thread, which you can scroll back through to see the other JOURNEYS SO FAR

The Bus may be 'mythical', but the support is real, it is honest and it will help you to achieve what it is that you seek, as long as you are honest with us, but mostly, YOURSELF

      See you soon. x

Definitely, I like a good singsong. Suppose 10 green bottles might be a little inappropriate.....Grin

Reserving my seat please. I'm not cool enough for the back row but I'll grab an aisle seat and a yellow opal fruit please!

Helllooooo
God I love new threads. Grabs bag of opals off spanna.

I'm not quite celebrating. Not going to go into details here as don't want to derail you all. A bit pissed with myself, but never mind. I'm in the drivers seat and all is good. The less I drink the better my life becomes. It's as simple as that. Wish I found it simple to follow through.

It's so baking hot here I reckon my brain has melted so if I'm not making any sense we'll blame the heat.
Hope you're all sound asleep.

Checking in sometimes to the bus & sometimes to the roof rack Smile

Yesterday was a bus day. 2 Becks Blue with pub lunch. Volunteering to drive works for me!

Friday was a roof rack day. I was given a bottle of wine. Very triggering drink for me; once a bottle is open I finish it. So I threw some of it away before the inertia took over. Maybe not ideal but I felt good about seizing a bit of control back

I read on the previous thread about ticking off AF days in a diary. I like the visual boost of that so am going to start. Each week to have more bus days than roof rack days.

One day at a time for me

Thanks for the ride Thanks

Ooh, a shiny new thread, how very 2014!

Morning everyone, sorry I dipped out last night feeling a bit grotty (dramatic changes in air pressure give me all the symptoms of hay fever, so I'm in for a bit of a weekend of it Sad ).

But still AF, and I hear you Geodie, I'm wondering why it hasn't been as difficult as I expected! but I think I must just have finally been ready, but I'm not going to drop my guard.

So, my second Sunday, really need to get to the gym, the wine may have gone but the wobble hasn't.

Have a good day everyone.

Soc darling babe you have done so well so far Smile a blip is ok. You've got back on Gerald and you're still driving which is fab Grin There's so much that we're all learning about ourselves in the process of abstaining, controlling our alcohol intake. It must be sweltering over there (I am equally as Envy as I'm for the heat) but it must get too much day in day out Sad Hang in there Babe, one day at a time.

I'm babe I hope you managed to get some sleep x

Day 11 (wooooo hooooo) Grin

Morning Sweet sorry you're feeling shite hope you feeling better later on, do you take anything for it? Take it easy and be kind to yourself today Smile

Hi Geordie completely get the designated driver badge, it's really helped me recently. Not tried Becks Blue yet, what worries me is having the taste and wanting the effect, not getting it and going on to the real stuff Sad if that makes sense.

Morning, Spanna, I do use an antihistamine spray, but it only works if I've been taking it before - and work was too busy this week for me to notice it was being forecast (doh!). On the bright side - excuse for a pyjama day Wink, don't think the gym is really going to happen.
