Anyone want to be my friend?!

Sad I know. But I just don't have any. I've got about 5 who I could call in a crisis but none of them have kids so don't understand that I rarely get to go out. I went back to work quickly after dd's birth so hardly know any playgroup mums either as my mum took her.

I'm 25 and a teacher and like to think I'm a good laugh! Am I the only saddo around?

How old is your dd? Are there any toddler groups that you could fit in around work?
I've been where you are so understand the feelings of isolation.

You are not a saddo at all. Its an odd stage when you are one of the first in your group of friends to have children, I'm one of the last in mine which is equally as strange at times!

Toddler groups are all morning and early afternoon around here. I leave for work at 6.45am and rarely get home before 6 Hmm. Dd will be 3 next month and I sent some invites to be handed out at her nursery (I don't know any of the parents at all) and hoped that some parents may come with their kids to the party, but most have rsvp'd with no Sad

Oh, that's tough. I haven't really got to know anyone at nursery either, on account of the fact that I dump and run most of the time as its vey tight for me to get to and from work on time.

You will always have us as friends here anyway :)

I'm 23 and live quite near you but don't have kids yet! I see lots of mums of all ages doing the mum and toddler swimming sessions at my local leisure centre and it looks quite sociable so maybe you could try that? Good luck.

Which centre is that? I struggle to find any toddler activity on a weekend. I can't do weekdays as work full time

It's the Rainbow in Epsom. I'm not sure exactly what classes they run but there's a teaching pool which seems to have teachers and mums in it regularly. Sorry I don't know more. It might be worth giving them a call if it's not too far from you.

I'm also aware of this through a friend - www.classicalbabies.com/. There's nothing on at weekends at the moment but it might be worth keeping an eye on it.
