Does your man communicate with you?

Been with dp 2 yrs, I've recently moved in with him and finding life a bit lonely with him to be honest.

He's very different personality wise to my previous partners, he's very quiet, just sits watches tv, if I talk about something other than food or sex I can tell he switches off. He starts work early in the morning so goes to bed early , it just feels like I come home from work , I cook tea and he goes to bed. I've tried keeping quiet myself and then nothing at all is said between us, and he then says "whats wrong why are you grumpy !!"

If I say to him we don't talk or communicate this obvoiusly gets his back up, I think its the mental stimulation I miss, having someone to have a chat with etc.

I just feel a bit needy and its not like me.
Anyone else got a situation like this?
:)

Sorry, that made me smile, he's obviously a man of simple needs!

Prior to moving in together, how much time did you spend together? I would make sure you fill your time as much as possible, arrange nights out with friends, family; evening classes; gym; whatever you enjoy doing. That way you won't feel so alone and you'll have lots more to talk about when you do spend time together. Are you spending every evening together at the moment?

Other than that, you will have to accept that some people are talkers and some people are happy listening and if he's always been like this since you met, it's not likely he will change.

What things do you enjoy doing together at weekends? (Apart from food and sex Smile)

Thanks for replying :)

Prior to moving in we didn't see each other everynight, probably 4 evenings a week, and he come to mine some of that time so I guess I was more at one in my own environment.
Now I've moved in I have this stupid idea that I want to be like a 'domestic goddess' stupid I no ! :) and I am trying to please him all the time and not really thinking about me I guess.

I go to the gym couple of times a week with friends, but I only go if it fits in round me and him.
I feel I'm losing 'me' a bit, but my friends are all settling down with husbands and babies and they all seemed so settled in their homes, maybe I just am trying too hard :)

Yes you're right, it will take a while for you to get into a routine and used to living together.

I would start as you mean to go on though, still be your own person, arrange things with friends, family, colleagues etc. Let him miss you and look forward to seeing you! Still arrange 'date' nights even though you're living together. Make sure you do things out of the house together at weekends - theatre, cinema, art galleries, shopping, visits to stately homes, whatever you two enjoy doing.
