Time to be susptitious?

I did the stupid thing of looking through my partners mobile phone text messages today (no reason to suspect at that time, just nosey!) and I came across a load of messages from a girl that I assume is his ex. He's been talking about her loads lately and I know they're 'briefly' in contact but Im not sure what to think about these messages. Here are a few, what do you think?

"why did you ask if Im back babe? xxx"

"Sorry, had to go, he was getting mad, tx soon xxx"

"definately txt ltr tonight xxx"

"its a shame ur at work all week, we could've met up.. xxx"

(following the last one) --> "ok! :D xxx"

so, over to you...should I be susptious or just leave it?

I'd be suspicious.

Keep an eye on it for a few days, watch his behavior, then confront him if you are still suspicious.

Thing is he's leaving his phone around, left it with me today while he went in a different shop so that I could use it to text someone and he didnt panick when I 'hid' it earlier on...just said "do you know where my phone is?" I said no and he just said "oh well, it will turn up".

To try and panick him further I started messing around with it in front of him...still no reaction and I then left it on the sofa with the text message list open (as if Id forgot to switch it off) and he didnt bat an eyelid ??!!

I thought that too, the way he's been going on about her lately it seems like he's waiting for a reaction. He thinks Ive been 'off' with him lately and maybe he's doing this to try and frighten me back into shape! I dont know...

I got a holiday brochure today after getting an amazing deal from a travel agent...I kept asking him if he wanted to go and he just kept saying "yes..", I kept asking if he'd be able to put half of the money up and he said he definately would but he never once looked at the brochure (still hasnt and isnt intending to I dont think)....I cant help but wonder if he's serious about it or just saying "yes" to shut me up.

I dont know whats going on with him anymore. There were text messages from another girl too, here are a few:

"Hey hun, I wish! lol xxx"

"are you on msn? heres my addy @ be on later xxx"

"Im in Edinburgh at the moment!"

"love it but miss home lol"

"yes Im back "

To me, this one sounds like he's been doing some chasing. Then again, maybe Im just paranoid.

IMO if you had something to worry about he'd be very protective over his phone.

Unless you think he is really that daft/stupid?

I would say stop looking at his phone
I don't think they sounds particularly suspicious - if he's talking about her and you know they are in contact then I don't think he is acting like a man with something to hide.
ask him outright if you want to know something. going through someone's phone - god that would REALLY tick me off.

I feel I need to ask him, something doesnt add up...he's been talking to these two girls on msn yet he tells me he doesnt talk to anyone on msn.

So the question is, how do I admit that I was looking through his phone?? Do I just outright admit it or make up some daft excuse? should I not mention it at all or try and get him talking some other way?

christ no don't tell him youhave been looking at his phone
just ask him about the ex, what sort of friendship he has with her, does she have a bf etc

She does have a boyfriend, she dumped my dp to go with this bloke and fell pregnant to him a month later. So she had the baby and they're still together but she's now going on to my dp about how much she hates her boyfriend and that she wants her 'old life back'.

Last time he was going on about her it was obvious there was feeling there... he'd say something like "she apparantly hates her new boyfriend...long pause I dont care anymore, cant stand her anyway, sod her..."

You know when someone sounds like they're trying to convince themselves of something rather than others?

sounds suspicious to me, and if he thinks you trust him then he may not even have thought that you'd be going through his mobile phone. Go into msn and set it up to save all chat history, then when he's out go on the computer and find out what he's saying to these women on msn. Don't confront him until you have something more to go on. If it's nothing then he might be annoyed that you don't trust him and this might cause more agro, but if there is something then he might deny it and without much evidence you'll have nothing more to go on and he'll be a lot more discrete in the future.
