Am I a facebook stalker?

camilla2010 · 07/06/2011 13:41

I have a bit of a crush on someone and look at his photo sometimes on FB. I am not his friend on FB so can only see his photo. Does everyone do this or am I a stalker? I heard from mutual friends he has a crush on me too and wondered if he has ever looked at my picture? What do you reckon?

I reckon you're going to get your phone confiscated by your teacher.

Well if you have heard he has a crush on you as well then I would just bite the bullet and send a friend request.

Oh and I think everybody does it, it's what FB was invented for. As long as you aren't checking it 300 times per hour then you should be fine Wink

Find out where he lives and go through his bins.

Be careful. You can tell these days who is stalking looking at your profile.

I would be mortified if he knew I had looked at his fb - is that true?

No you can't see how many times someone views your profile, I reckon half the reason people use fb is to stalk prospective or previous partners :o

No...had you going though didn't I ;-)

Don't worry, you can stalk look to your hearts content.

In another current thread, a man has been accused by his current DP of looking at his old flame's FB page daily and has been labelled by many of the the commenting mumsnetters as:

"undoubtedly a paranoid stalky nutter"

You have been warned :)

If people could find out who was looking at their profiles fb would not be half as popular.

Everyone does it, it's half the fun!! Frankly, if you haven't got a FB stalker you're a nobody anyway Grin

Omigawd to be fair, on that other thread, the OP's P did actually TELL her that he looked at his ex's profiles daily, which imo is stalky and nutty and really out of order to the OP.

But I digress.

Camilla, can you not just right click and save his picture so you don't have to keep looking at his FB page?

OP change your FB profile photo to a naked one and poke him. Grin

@madonna ah so it's not the stalking, it's the telling that makes one a paranoid stalky nutter?

I never can get the hang of these modern ethics :)

Omigawd, if a tree falls in the forest and no one's around to hear it, will anyone ever really know you've checked his facebook page 20 times already today...?

How funny - no I just wondered if other people look at people they fancy on FB even if they are not friends and do boys do it (ie has he looked at mine do you think). We are both not FB people though he never posts really and neither do I and I don't really get it but good when you fancy someone:0)

Camilla I would say at least half the people on FB use it to look up people they fancy, theres nothing abnormal in it. If you like this guy I think you should friend request him, or even better strike up a RL conversation, lifes too short for mooning over a photo.

Best of luck Smile

I think people look and don't post/comment a lot. I will often tell someone some detail of my life ( in RL conversation) and they 'll say ''I know, I saw in on fb''.
