I have just hit my DH (candle stick) UPDATE

Hi all,

Its been a week since the events of last weekend. DH and I are still together and things are back to normal.

I did not go to the GP because my DH felt i would be putting a label on myself based on something that was out of character. I respected that but we agreed that I would see a counselor so that i can try and understand what happened.

I had a session on Tuesday and it went ok. My counsellor and I talked about a lot of things and he told me that, as far as he was concerned, I had no anger issues but that i had overreacted in a situation where i felt i had no control. DH and I also had a joint session yesterday which went really well. I will catch up with the counselor in a months time.

I am ever so grateful to those who read my thread and gave me advice. I checked on the thread a few days ago and was shocked at some of the things that were said.I appreciate that conversations evolve and I respect peoples opinions. My counsellor has told me to look at my own experience as it is too easy to get worked up on other peoples opinions/views.

I am still on MN but have now name changed to a cheerful name!

Thank you.

Good for you for going to a counsellor, so many wouldn't have done and it will do your relationship the world of good.

Hope things work out well for you.

I didn't post on your original thread but i watched with interest.

I think your counsellor was right to tell you to concetrate on your case.

Best of luck.

Really pleased things are going well for you both. Very brave of you to admit to what you did but pat on the back for addressing it (sorry hope that didn't sound patronising - wasn't meant to be)

What sort of a counsellor claims to be able to sum someone up after one session?

That's great! I did read you original thread and as always that is what the problem with MN is - people rush to a judgement about somebody they don't know and always tar them with the worst outcome!! I am glad you are ok and hope you are really happy together. But I bet those who were horrid won't come back and say sorry! Those who THINK they know it all never do!!

That is lovely and thank you for updating as you had promised.

I think your dp must know you well to have told you to avoid the gp, and see a counsellor, and the sessions seem to have gone well there.

I wish you both well in your marriage.
