If I feel I am eligible for redundancy do I just arrange a meeting a request it stating my reasons? What if they say no?

Why do you want to be made redundant?
I don't think that's how it works. They have to tell you it is redundant.
If a company is going to axe 200 jobs or something they might first ask for voluntary redundancies before carrying out compulsory redundancies.

I don't want to be made redundant. I am in a position where my role has been relocated and I can't physically or financially do it any more. My Union has told me I could claim redundancy based on travelling distance. Just don't know how to broach the subject.

Well it depends what's in your contract. I was relocated and had to move as my contracted stated I could be moved anywhere on a 40 mile radius of the current Base I was at. You could ask them for a contribution to travel expenses instead of redundancy?
