EarlyBird Tickets to WorkFest (7 June), Mumsnet's dedicated women and work event, are now on sale!
Thanks tomatoplantproject, I hope so too.I guess I'm lucky they paid me something TBH.
Yes - it is unfortunately normal. If you were made redundant you would normally get a payment for redundancy (tax-free) + either work your notice period or be paid in lieu of it. Depending on the wording of your contract, pay in lieu of notice is taxable. Hope your health starts improving soon.
Sorry to hear that Sam. Me too, ggrrr to them, tax off the full lot.
I've just lost my job through ill health and that's exactly what they did, paid me in lieu of notice.
Is it normal to be paid 'in lieu of notice' rather than as redundancy?
