I am being made redundant at the end of October from a part time job earning £8500pa, with standard Gov. redundancy, so that won't last very long! I am a single parent with 2 dc, claiming WTC & CTC. I also get maintenance from my ex husband. Obviously I am extremely worried. I called the Job Centre Plus but was told that they can't tell me anything until I am actually out of work. My understanding is that I will be able to claim for JSA for 6 months, which will then switch to income based JSA. What is the difference? is either type of JSA means tested? Will I still be able to claim CTC? and how on earth will I pay my mortgage (I do not have mortgage payment protection). Any advice gratefully received...
