Hello all,
I'm cooking christmas dinner for 6 this year and one guest is veggie. Rather than cook a seperate vegetarian dish, I thought I'd cook some really great vegetable dishes that she could have as a "main" but would also sit well with the meat (most probably turkey or similar).
Nice idea in theory... but where the hell do I get the recipes from?!
Any help much appreciated

I have been in the position of your guest, and I prefer your approach to being singled out with 'here is your individual nut roast'.

handbagofoblivion - that's what I thought. I just want everything to be delicious and if you want some meat as well, then fine.
OmicronPersei8, Furball - these sound great! Thanks everyone for your help.
God bless the guardian!

Go online to BBC Good Food and search the veggie recipes - or check out their christmas mag (in the shops now...)

Aha... Well, even better then.
Good call Blackduck - I think I'll just do a veggie one and then everyone's a winner!
Will keep you posted on my efforts as I think it's probably a good idea to give some of these a try before christmas day...

Last year as a veggie, I had:
Dauphinoisse potatoes;
Roasted parsnips, sweet potatoes, carrots and red onions, with cumin and orange zest;
sprouts with parsley and chestnuts;
stuffing;
savoy cabbage;
a port gravy.
It was lovely!
Dp just had turkey alongside. We had a veggie starter too (nibbly stuff) but I've forgotten what it was.
JANEITE - yes! Exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of. The Dauphinoisse potatoes is an especially good call... who doesn't like those?
