I have 4 sharon fruit in my veggie box this week. Tasted one a few years back and remember not being very impressed. Anyway please tell me the best way to eat them or if anyone has any recipes using them! Thanks
I just take off the stalk and eat them!

I have made this a lot lately. It tastes sooooo good.
baked persimmon (AKA Sharon Fruit and Kaki) pudding
240ml persimmon purée (blend peeled persimmons and a little orange juice in a blender)
2 tsp baking soda
200g flour
200g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
120ml milk
1 tbsp melted butter
80g chopped walnuts
Mix the persimmon purée with 1 tsp baking soda. In a separate bowl mix together the remaining baking soda, the flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Mix together the egg, lemon juice, vanilla, milk and melted butter in a small bowl. Add the persimmon and the egg mixtures to the dry ingredients alternately. Finally, add the chopped walnuts. Pour into a greased 8cm-square pan and place in an oven pre-heated to 180°C and bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and serve with custard or cream or icecream or jsut by itself.
Feeling very fed up that I didn't buy a few reduced price Sharons the other day. That sounds fab Lou. How many fruits would you say equals 240ml?
I slice them - DD likes to see the star/flower shape that runs through it.

I used about 6/7 and that made about 500ml
I also made smoothies with the leftovers

That does sound nice, unfortunately I don't eat eggs. Having said that I did just scoop them out and have them with some plain soya yogurt and I was pleasantly surprised how sweet they were!
