I found an old bag so started popping it in the microwave according to their timings but a load of unpopped corns always get left behind and even though i cook it for longer the next time its never enough.

Is there a better way to pop it? also do you have any ideas apart from salting it or sugaring it??

TIA

I do mine in a pan over the stove. Add a little bit of sunflower oil and the kernels to the pan and cook on a medium heat. As they start to pop keep shaking the pan so the unpopped ones fall to the bottom. Keep the pan on the heat until you hear no more popping. Best to use a pan with a glass lid if you have one so you can see what's going on. I don't usually have any unpopped corn left using this method but not sure if the age of your corn may be a factor.

For topping, my favorite is lots and lots of Parmesan. DH likes suger and cinnamon.

I do it on the stove to. I've popped really old corn before and found it doesn't all pop.

too

Sadly I agree, old corn doesn't pop well. Buy some fresh and you will be amazed. I too find stovetop works best too.

Another home made popcorn fan here! Sometimes I find if I've put too many kernels in the saucepan it doesn't all pop (serves me right for being greedy!) No receipes as I adore salted and nothing else will do!

I have an amazing popcorn recipe somewhere. Uses real corn (not the branded type) and lots and lots of butter and syrup! It's one where the corn is popped then covered in all things amazing and bad, then baked.

Mmmm
