Jacket potatoes in the slow cooker.

(12 Posts)

I've heard a rumour you can do this. Is it true? Does the lack of water not cause a massive fire?!

Yes, No.

Make sure you have pieced the skins before baking and that there is enough in the slowcooker to cover the bottom at least.

You can leave them plain or rub oil with herbs and garlic into the skin and wrap each potato in foil before placing in slowcooker.

Cook on slow for 8/10 hours or 3/4 on high.

Enough water to cover the bottom (sorry for being dense!)?

No water needs to be added at all. Just potatoes either on their own OR covered in tinfoil either way works.

How do the skins turn out?

Babies, thanks for the link.

Skins are nice if you oil them and wrap in foil but not as crispy as a proper oven.
