Amy - how unbelievable!

(52 Posts)

She's going to turn up at Carl's with a bunny soon. I've never particularly found her character well rounded, but I'm really not sure where the SWs are going with this.

Oh I just read the other thread (word play...) and see that you feel the same.

This all makes me want to shout at the radio "if Usha had told you earlier about Carl being married would you have believed her ? No !"
Why hasn't Amy tried to find Carl to confront him ?

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Sun 10-Jun-12 10:41:46

So when did sensible, intelligent and understanding Amy turn into such a whiney, stupid, wet, pathetic twonk?

I havent felt this Nnoyed since Pip kept sAying Juuuuuudddeee in that annoying whingy way.

heronsfly Sun 10-Jun-12 13:49:43

I agree MrsD, Amy has left normality behind,im hoping Alan informs her very soon that if she cant live in the house with him and his WIFE, its time she moved out. Pip was back on whingeing form over the threats

R4 Mon 11-Jun-12 10:07:36

There must be something in the water in Ambridge that affects the womenfolk.hmm The younger Shula used to be OK until they turned her into Mrs CatsBumMouth. I wish they wouldn't change people's whole character.angry

I agree about Pip's self-centred whining - I was waiting for David to say, "See. This is why we didn't involve you."

choccyp1g Fri 15-Jun-12 15:05:55

I feel it is just a long-drawn out excuse to drop Amy's character from the series.
It's now become simultaneously boring and unbelievable.

So, so boring

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Fri 15-Jun-12 15:43:18

As a feisty I often feel conflicted listening to the Archers.
Because I want to give every female in Ambridge a smack in the gob.

maples Fri 15-Jun-12 15:44:18

Wasn't Shula always a bit of a martyr?

ppeatfruit Fri 15-Jun-12 16:09:41

Do some of you have inside info !Or maybe the S.W.'s get their ideas from here; because it's mostly happened hasn't it? Finally Usha has properly confronted Amy and it looks like she's moving out hooray!!

Probably into a pickers' caravan grin

ppeatfruit Sat 16-Jun-12 14:04:25

No she'll turn up at Alice's and put more strain on their marriage grin I didn't hear last nights' was i right?

Yes, she made Chris late by having a 25 minute poo in the morning grin

ppeatfruit Sat 16-Jun-12 14:31:03

grin Obviously

choccyp1g Sat 16-Jun-12 16:17:58

How long is it since Carl dumped her? Maybe she was ages in the bathroom looking for a blue line.

Mopswerver Sat 16-Jun-12 16:25:04

She is defo going to do a Glenn Close on Carl, ruin his perfect marriage, terrify his kids and break poor Alan's heart.

Meanwhile at's Farm of those Young Farmers will get mauled by the wild boar and Ben will be kidnapped....

ppeatfruit Sun 17-Jun-12 13:25:52

OMG choccy I hadn't thought of that of course TA S.W.s are very cavalier with their contraceptive use but surely she'd have told Alice.

Mopswerver did you say "perfect' marriage? grin

EdgarAllenPimms Mon 18-Jun-12 22:23:28

"As a feisty I often feel conflicted listening to the Archers.

Kate - smack!
Alice - Biff!
Peep - Sock!
Amy - ker-pow!

it would be like old-style Batman.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Mon 18-Jun-12 22:51:53

Crap! that was supposed to say FEMINIST!
I only just noticed

It's turning into east enders. Yawn. I don't want that much angst in my life ty, I have my in laws for that

ppeatfruit Tue 19-Jun-12 07:30:02

IKWYMEdgar but what about Debbie? she who wants to turn the world into a factory farmed hell The biggest biff!! for her from me!!

Yes exactly makescakes That's why I don't watch stenders.

EdgarAllenPimms Tue 19-Jun-12 12:51:56

i knew what you meant smile.

i blame the script writers. they make all the younger women unbearable.

though Peggy / Jenny / lillian / la Snell all have their moments too.

I have moments of wanting to knock tom/ will/ eds / Deevid / Brians heads together too though.

Perhaps i have been listening too long.

ppeatfruit Tue 19-Jun-12 13:00:13

Now Mat's up to his crooked games again; going to get the perfect Darrell into deep shxx. Cue next 'troubled marriage' with the perfect Ilona and have you heard their ghastly Rosa yet?

Rosa is horrendous. Stereotypical teenage girl anyone?

ppeatfruit Tue 19-Jun-12 13:21:43

Yes obviously I was bad though not as bad that grin I remember Ilona describing her DDs to Peggy and thinking they're going to make a big deal of her and her family seems like I was right!!grin

ppeatfruit Tue 19-Jun-12 13:23:12

It was probably the reason they gave Jack alziemers!!(sp)?

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Tue 19-Jun-12 15:55:30

Jenny is everything I dislike about women rolled up into one toxic little ball.
Dense matter, if you will, pure distilled passive aggression.

Oh darling!

ppeatfruit Tue 19-Jun-12 17:11:18

`ohDoAdmit My DD calls me passive aggressive i've always wondered is the opposite assertive or aggressive aggression? grin

Songbird Wed 20-Jun-12 11:18:46

Woop woop, take that Amy you little twerp!

Mind you, however (utterly) predictable it all was, what a prize git Carl is! I actually think his wife should find out.

ppeatfruit Wed 20-Jun-12 17:19:23

I know the word barsxtxxd was symbolic of Amy finally 'finishing' with carl and coming to terms with it all but d'you reckon a girl of her age would use that word? (I do have a personal reason for disliking it as an insult grin). I s'pose piece of shxx would have been too strong?

ppeatfruit Wed 20-Jun-12 17:20:20

I know the asterisked spelling is wrong BTW !

EdgarAllenPimms Wed 20-Jun-12 17:56:04

Oh what a little cowbag! after all that to Usha 'i would never go with a married man' and then she goes an throws herself at him!!

She Is A Tart!

You've all forgotten the awful Emmmur. A prime candidate for a close encounter with a combhine harvester!

I was shocked by Any's beahviour last night too. I expect she will try and tell his wife now too.

EdgarAllenPimms Wed 20-Jun-12 18:01:56

i hope so. Carl will be right. The wife won't believe her. she will look like a bunny boiler. she's heading that way...

No, Amy will go home, apologise/brush it over with Alan and Usha and go back to normal. It will never come up again. See Pip/Jude for reference.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Wed 20-Jun-12 18:38:22

I used to love that name.
Cant bear it now

ppeatfruit Thu 21-Jun-12 08:23:30

Yes you're right Obviously Also ref. the numerous affairs not mentioned in the Aldridge household (apart from the arrival and part time residence of Ruarhi (sp.)?of course grin)

EdgarAllenPimms Thu 21-Jun-12 12:14:36

i would welcome her going properly off the rails. and disappearing into the fog outside Ambridge..

leaving Usha to enjoy marital bliss as she deserves.

ppeatfruit Thu 21-Jun-12 17:24:49

Or just leaving home like most 20 somethings with a job and setting up a room in Felpersham or somewhere; shame they don't have nurses' homes anymore. Thinking about it that Carl sounded more off the rails than she did almost psycopathic actually.

ppeatfruit Thu 21-Jun-12 17:27:56

EdgarAllenPimms Thu 21-Jun-12 20:26:37

children never really leave on the Archers.. they hang around the farm until they become The Older Generation themselves......

(ok exception in Kate)

ppeatfruit Fri 22-Jun-12 08:12:32

They often disappear till they become 'troubled' adolescents (and better actors)! (just read my fab correction to the word psychopathic! I had to look it up blush!

Just as I suspected. Amy's en route to an apology.

WhatWouldMargoDo Sun 24-Jun-12 10:32:32

Big biff or pip, she is so wooden though I'd get splinters in my knuckles. "how dare they sabotage open farm sundaaay?" oh do fuck off.

Ponders Sun 24-Jun-12 10:37:34

MrsDV, when I read your "feisty" post I knew exactly what it meant. Maybe autocorrect is on to something!

Bluestocking Sun 24-Jun-12 10:38:47

I'm listening to the omnibus and have just realised that Carl is Eastenders' Dr Trueman. Agree that Amy is on the point of boiling a bunny ...

OliviaLMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 24-Jun-12 10:50:17

marking place for later

NoComet Sun 24-Jun-12 10:52:57

Boiling bunnies is bad!!!

Keeping up with the Archers is impossible since DMIL died.

She listened most days and knew who everyone was. I now get totallyconfused

ppeatfruit Sun 24-Jun-12 19:15:17

Yes Whatwould Pip is wooden a real chip (pip) off the old blockgrinShe's been in it long enough to have improved but I can't hear any evidence of it.

Nah Amy's apologising like obviously said.

ppeatfruit Sun 24-Jun-12 19:17:13

Ruth's mum could have the kids couldn't she? good for Ruth I wouldn't sacrifice my DCs for a principal either.
