Very funny episode of The Museum of Curiosity this week.

It had Neil Gaiman, Sarah Millican and David Eagleman as guests. I really didn't expect Neil Gaiman to be so light-hearted and funny, his written humour seems so dark in comparison.

Yes, I enjoyed the programme too. Still a few days to hear it for anyone who wants to ( Link )

I just listened to the last News Quiz (the Friday 18:30 comedy slot is repeated on BBC R7 a couple of weeks later on Sunday evening - www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00ssp9vlink - which included a reference (after an Ofcom survey on public attitudes to swearing) about news reader and continuity announcer Peter Donaldson's "bad language".

He was heard, after messing up his words announcing 'Archive on Four', to say "F..." under his breath, during the pips, probably assuming the microphone was off.

What seems worse was that Feedback played back the piece of output (and Feedback was repeated a few days later with the same extract in).

There's a recording on YouTube - I guess some BBC boss heard it only because of the silence during the pips.

He had been with the BBC for something over 40 years, and although he retired in 2001, was back as a freelancer until he was 'let go' after this happened around September 2009. News Quiz must be one of very few shows where his voice can be heard on R4 nowadays.
