Has anyone been listening to 'Beyond Black' on R4?

I've really enjoyed it.I liked the idea of a spirit guide being called Maurice and being obsessed with pickles,rather than the stereotype of the Native American shaman.I have ordered the book from the library.

i hope you enjoy it...maurice was the best bit of the book imo...otherwise it was the usual overrated hilary mantel in need of a good editor

...actually, i really enjoyed fludd and 9 months on ghazza street but i haven't been able to get into her more recent doorstop sized epics

I loved the book! I can't get on with most of her books - loved the one about Saudi Arabia though - but this was fantastic and very chilling. I wasn't convinced about the casting at first - didn't think Alison Steadman was right, but she really grew on me.
