Yeah wanted to like her but she makes me turn the radio off.

I want to like her, she seems lovely, but my heart sank when they said she was the 6.30 comedy.
I start cooking dinner at 6.30 and everything I cook can be made in 45 minutes so I get the comedy and the Archers.

You are not alone. Thought she would get better with time but it seems not.

Yes. Turned the radio off, and it takes a lot to make me do that.

Like you, Pipbin, I want to like her, but the stuff is so samey.

I turned it off... Immensely annoying!!

Yes, she irritates me a bit. I can't relax when I see or hear her because I'm just waiting for her to say Matlock. And I like Matlock Confused

It's exactly the bloody same Toomuch.
Songs about Matlock, stories about Matlock, stories about ex boyfriends and papier-mâché penguins.

And always the same voices.

I like her in other things with other people, but sadly not this

Could not listen to it. Not perhaps quite as bad as Count Arthur Strong, but beyond my tolerance levels.

She was good in that John Finnemore Double Act play a few months ago, though.

One-trick pony. And not funny.

Christ she is annoying. 'Dear Issy, I am from Matlock and you are from Matlock. Obviously you live in London now so are much better than me. Nevertheless I hope you can construct a more amusing version of this letter to use in your act! Ideally you could then sing one of your songs that's exactly the same as all your other songs! Lots of love, mum (from Matlock). Xxx

If anything were to drive me from R4, it would be Count Arthur Strong, Gasp0de.

It's absolutely fucking awful. Twee pants. Worse even than the 'ooh, I'm so tall and awkward' line of constant self-deprecation that is Miranda. Although I do love her as Chummy in CTM.

I think she acts well, especially comedy, but someone mistakenly gave her her own show.

Agreed. Best you can say is she is not as bad as Count Arthur Strong.

I hear you. I didn't even like her in Peep Show.

I love Count Arthur Strong.

I liked Isy Sutie's love letters first time around (can't work out if it's a new series or repeats which tells you a lot!) but I'm now finding it irritating. Agree about the same voices and I don't like when her voice struggles with the high note. She's not Victoria Wood when it comes to song writing I know that much.

Do like her in Peep Show tho. And I love Matlock.

Hmm, I'm on the fence. I really wanted to like it, but it just misses the mark somehow. I feel it's not quite as clever or funny as she thinks it is.

Conversely, I listened to start/stop on the iplayer radio app expecting to hate it and found it really funny.

They're advertising something on Comedy Central at the moment that features her. She tells a "joke" about thinking she's adopted. The joke isn't funny and her delivery sucks. She's awful!

You'd do better eating later and listening to The Archers and Front Row.

I can't bear her, if she is in or on something I have to abandon it.

Report
Blerg · 10/08/2016 19:09

I like her. I saw her testing out the penguin / letters / Matlock stuff at a comedy club a few years ago and it was funny but I feel I've heard it too many times. So maybe needs new material.
