God I could have screamed last night when Josh or one of the other egg-talkers said 'great: let's talk percentages!'. No, let's bloody not, you boring old shits.

I never used to mind the smaller, agricultural stories, but they feel very jarring when placed next to the Helen/Rob SL, and very, very, dull. Didn't help that I thought Josh was Matthew for a good bit of that, too.

Seems apt that Matthew sounds about 12 and Peep about 40.

I agree that if there was anything odd about the scan, like Helen not going or lying about it, I would normally expect it to have been signalled somehow. But if there isn't, then that's even more annoying - it's difficult to believe that there are absolutely no signs of problems that a half-awake midwife could have picked up on,

But do you see a midwife at this stage? Presumably this was the routine 20-week (?) scan where the sonographer just looks at the development of the child on a screen? (My memories are pretty rusty, so hopefully someone with more recent experience can clarify).

The Helen / Rob story is the first time in years that I have really got involved emotionally with a long-term drama (though poor Joe being dumped in a hostel came close)
TA has some really excellent writing & acting atm - excluding the boring & pointless poultry brothers obvs.
I've just realised why it resonates so much - my sister (45) cut off ties with the rest of the family 13 year ago, shortly after becoming pregnant to her new husband (rebound romance for her, thus vulnerable) It scares & saddens me that this is perhaps the stuff she was / is going through. Oh aren't some men complete psychopathic shits.

When I had a scan they combined it with a midwife appointment so I didn't have to make two journeys. No idea whether that's the norm.

Eggs are pretty profitable with the extra benefit of not needing much land. It can be a "mom and pop" operation, but, and it's a big but, the pasture based system will be incredibly labour intensive and need much more land etc. In big free range sheds the egg collection is all mechanised, collecting from lots of smaller sheds will take ages and then there's the packing etc, plus moving the sheds to new pasture as it doesn't take long for hens to wreck the ground they're on.

At least it's a distraction from the HelRob story which I'm finding a little too much. I think it should be played out over a longer timescale but not at such intensity, and with Rob showing some redeeming features. I'm having palpitations now when I hear him interacting with Hellen and agree that it's making TA very difficult to listen to.

My big concern last night was I really thought Helen was going to say to Kirsty that she couldn't see her anymore.

I think the conversation between Hellin and Kirsty showed that Hellin doesn't really understand what is going on. Hellin knows something isn't right, but she doesn't know what or why.

I know that might sound odd, but my XH was EA. At the time I knew things weren't right, but I didn't realise what was wrong. I was lucky, he left me. I didn't feel lucky when he left, I felt devastated, I felt sorry for our children.

It took me 2 years to realise what a total fucking bastard waste of space he is. My X likes to control people, I think he left because I had a voice. Whatever his reason I know I am lucky to be free of him.

I want Rob to be exposed. I also don't know why they didn't all change their names I was expecting Henwee Tichener-Archer.

I suppose at least the upside from the horror of Tuesday's episode (I'm in my lonely corner of loving any boring crap that is a break from any scene with Rob in it, constantly near the radio so I can switch off when it gets too much), is that Helen might have somewhere deep down stored the information that the way to go eventually will not be to tell Henry 'I'll be picking you up from school early today and we'll be leaving Daddy forever.
