Here

Its from the This American Life stable, it's a US murder case with a possibly innocent, imprisoned murderer but it's in four long episodes. I've just got to the end of chapter four and it is still unresolved, I am in such suspense.

It is so fantastic. Please let me know if you enjoy so I can enthuse about it with someone!

Am listening to episode 4 now, it's all gripping stuff. Sad and terrifying in equal measure.

Ok so yup gripped, roll on Thursday.

Certainly so far I can't see how they convicted when Jay's evidence was so often self contradicted and most of the phone stuff didn't match up either.

The man who found the body was utterly bizarre, he was a school caretaker?! Crazy.

Poor girl - she seems great so full of life and promise whenever you hear about her.

Jay's female friend who helped him was bizarre too driving him so he could dump clothes and clean shovels without being suspicious. She only thought he would be involved if paid lots of money- ok!

It says in the description it's a true story and non fiction. Is that right?

Omg I've been listening to this and I'm addicted! It's fantastic.
I go back and forth over what I think might have happened! Either way I think Jay seems like a dick.
Anan seems like such an intelligent, genuine person in the telephone conversations, he seems like a great guy. That to me makes it even scarier if he did do it.
I can't see how there can be a conclusion! Obviously he was found guilty but all the discrepancies! Grr I'll forever be in suspense!

Next episode is online... I need to listen again, damn those children for wanting engagement but on initial hearings it didn't really offer anything that would have made me feel more confident that Adnan deserved a guilty verdict.

Looking forward to listening again.

It's brilliant, thank you. Entertained me through DIY drudgery this afternoon.

Thanks for jogging me into listening. I heard Sarah Lane on TWiT.TV mention it as something she'd really got into listening on her drive to the studio and meant to check it out, but hadn't done so, so far. At least playing catch-up I can just download episodes 1-7 in one go :)

Have enjoyed TAL and other items (comedy, variety, science, talk/interview shows) from NPR and PRI for 10+ years...

Seems that with NPR 'promoting' their podcasts some of the newspapers have just written about a 'resurgence' of podcasting, which in my mind never stopped. Then again, people blogged about a resurgence in 2013, too!

Ooh thank you- I heard about this on r4. Wish I could remember what they said. I think they are writing it as they go and the starting point is a real life case. I may have made that up!! Anyone?
