Revisiting the discussion about Bethany, as someone said, she may well be much better off in a small village school with a 1:1 teaching assistant than in a class of 30 in a large Birmingham primary. It wouldn't be difficult to send the teacher and TA off for training - they have to do ongoing professional development training anyway. They cannot be the only family with a DS child in Borsetshire, and Borchester must have educational psychologists and speech and language therapists available. It's just bizarre that Vickoi sees the situation as requiring either Loxley Barratt or a wholesale move to Brum with nothing in between.

Re Rob's secret, the general view seems to be that Jess is either pregnant, has an STD, or has had Henry's new predilection for violence to be reported to her in her capacity as Borsetshire's only social worker.

Though it did occur to me that maybe her father left Knob something substantial in his will on condition that he remained married to and living with Jess. That could be fun.

yes, didn't Lynda say 'I think you'll find it's...' as if she had some reason for thinking so??

Re Bethany: it's not just the size of classes or whether teachers in deepest, darkest Borsetshire have ever encountered Downs (we don't live on the moon you knowHmm) but big cities usually have bigger budgets - not only in total but also per head - than the Shires. You only have to look at things like the London Challenge to see what funding can do.

Surely Vicky is intending to send Beth to a special school (they still exist), not a large city mainstream school? That's how I interpreted what she said

Yes, she could do very well in a small village school, IF she had 1-1 help & they all knew what they were doing, but that's a big if.

I find the Roy/Hayley scenes so painful to listen to - it's like hearing a Relationships thread She's probably checking his phone and e-mails in secret. She clearly knows whats going on, just doesn't want to articulate it.

Someone please take pity upon me and explain the trajectory of the locket thus far (from purchase)
I am flat out with DCs and work atm and can't keep track of the really important things in life!

It's just too sad. I want Hayley to murder Roy. That would be far less depressing than a Relationships thread. :o
