The Archers: did Peggy just die?

Only half heard last minute or so through wall of sound that is family life but got bird song and Peggy being sentimental - has she just slipped away (while visiting jack's grave?)

Jack's not dead yet ( though I suspect he may be tomorrow). The actor who played him died some time ago so he has been a non-speaking part for quite a while. Wasn't Peggy visiting him at the care home tonight?

Oops, got reality and archers confused and thought jack dead.

Maybe they'll both die tonight. Romantic, like.

I didn't imagine them both dying but it's an interesting notion, and does happen IRL sometimes, when an older person is widowed and then kind of fades away shortly after. It was quite nicely done. TA does tend to do the deading of a character where the actor has already died quite well.

and in case anyone wondering, the actor who was playing Tony has retired and in ill health but not dead, and happy for the takeover guy, who was chosen for mannerisms, rather than sounding similar (and for this, moderately regular listener, it's taking a while to accept new guy as being Tony and not someone new to the village!)
