I love my oyster, it's nice to push and not too heavy.

Tiggywunkle Thu 28-Feb-13 00:22:01

You can't go far wrong with an Oyster. I also like the iCandy Cherry which would probably fit in your boot. There's also the Mee-Go Pramette which would be worth a look too.

I'm happy with my oyster.

Just bought Oyster max tandem, certainly seems one of best options or me! Shop around a bit though as there are some good deals out there

Wereonourway Sat 16-Mar-13 20:06:30

Loved my oyster, haven't a bad word to say about it.

Loved the carrycot especially.

Ledkr Sat 16-Mar-13 20:09:52

Me too its still going strong and dd is two now.
I have.carry cot for sale if you need one. Black and pink though

me2013 Sat 16-Mar-13 22:31:27

Thanks for all replies in sticking with getting the oyster only problem now is which car seat as I know a few fit which seat do any of u have. Haven't found a great deal yet as ever place seems to have a different package but I got a few weeks yet before I find out sex of the baby so plenty of time to look

LoganMummy Sat 16-Mar-13 22:37:02

Love our Oyster - light, fits in small car and DS super comfy.

We have the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat which works with it.

TallulahBetty Mon 18-Mar-13 21:00:25

i love my oyster. we have the britax car seat which is great and doesn't require adapters which all the others do - including the actual oyster cat seat! bizarre.

bluer Wed 20-Mar-13 19:13:36

The pram centre we went to said they stopped selling the oyster carseat as they felt it was such poor quality...strange as they said the pram was great!

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat Thu 21-Mar-13 20:53:11

Does anybody know if the carrycot is certified for overnight sleeping? I like the Vista for that feature but this pushchair is more likely to fit easily in our boot.

Dd slept in hers when we were on hols and away. It was great!

PukeCatcher Thu 21-Mar-13 21:03:10

IJust I think I read that it isn't suitable, but I just bought a breathable mattress to fit. I don't know if that made it ok or not, but DD didn't sleep in it in the end. Might be something to look into though.

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat Fri 22-Mar-13 22:23:01

Ah ok, thank you. It's still on my list, don't think I can bear a fight to get a pushchair in the boot every day.

me2013 Sun 24-Mar-13 19:00:59

It's says on the babystyle website that the carrycot is fully ventilated and suitable for occasional overnight sleeping. I know how u feel with the fight to getting pushchair in boot I've had many days with my youngest pushchair the oyster looks so easy to put down and fits with no fuss in my very small zafira boot defiantly my choice after a lot of searching.

sparklekitty Sun 24-Mar-13 19:16:59

Love my Oyster. We have the adapters so I can pop our maxi cosi car seat on it.

TallulahBetty Sun 24-Mar-13 20:18:35

Just wanted to add that i have a v small Polo (older shape so definitely quite small) and the Oyster fits in my boot easily.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Sun 24-Mar-13 20:23:07

We've bought the oyster too. DC1 due in a month so not had much use yet but I'm pleased with the choice!

We went to Kiddicare and they sold us the Britax car seat with adapters to go on it.

I also have a vw polo so again it was about the folding option.

ginmakesitallok Sun 24-Mar-13 20:23:21

We had an oyster for dd2, it was great. Used carrycot for occasional overnight s, and had maxicosi car seat.

snala Sun 24-Mar-13 20:39:32

The britax seat will click straight onto the chassis, you don't need adapters.......

TallulahBetty Sun 24-Mar-13 22:30:04

Agreed Snala, the Britax car seat doesn't need adaptors to go on the Oyster.

me2013 Sun 24-Mar-13 22:39:58

The new britax baby safe plus shr II needs adaptors it's only the britax babysafe that they are built into the seat.

HavingALittleFaithBaby Mon 25-Mar-13 07:43:10

Mine definitely needed adapters! Couldn't get it to fit without! But they did give me them for free.

TallulahBetty Mon 25-Mar-13 09:34:27

I have the Britax babycafe shr II and it deffo doesn't need adaptors smile

snala Mon 25-Mar-13 12:16:11

Me too grin

snala Mon 25-Mar-13 12:20:12

Pressed too soon!
Me toogrin the shr definitely clips straight on.
confusedAll the britax seats have the same slots so they all can clip onto the britax pushchairs, hence they will all fit the oyster.
There are some height adapters but as the name suggests they are just for added height.

snala Mon 25-Mar-13 12:23:09

Sorry about the randomconfused!

me2013 Mon 25-Mar-13 13:14:58

it definitely says on babystyle website that the britax babysafe plus shr II needs the height adaptors its only the babysafe that has the adaptors please check on there as i done a lot of searching to find this out before i buy mine

TallulahBetty Mon 25-Mar-13 13:29:00

Height adaptors are optional though. they can be bought for any of the car seats and the carrycot to raise them up as they are admittedly quite low down. Height adaptors are not the same as the adaptors NEEDED to put the car seat on - these are not required for the Britax.

TallulahBetty Mon 25-Mar-13 13:35:23

this is what i have:

and it does not need adaptors smile

me2013 Mon 25-Mar-13 14:12:09

the height adaptors are only optional for all other seat if u dont believe me then go to the babystyle website then open up the manual for the oyster go to page 18 and there is a chart with all car seats and how they fit then in red writing says note the britax babysafe plus shr II requires the oyster carrycot/car seat height adaptors there is confusion as the britax plus shr dont need adaptors read in a lot of reviews of people being told the shr II dont need the adaptors but defo do

TallulahBetty Mon 25-Mar-13 14:44:42

Ok but i am saying i HAVE this car seat but do NOT need adaptors. The website must be wrong as i have used the oyster and car seat every day for 16 months and can 100000% promise that we don't have the adaptors lol

HavingALittleFaithBaby Mon 25-Mar-13 14:54:42

Whereas I bought mine from the shop and had to get the adaptors. I did spend 5 minutes trying to fit the car seat on to the frame before realising there were adaptors there. Then it fitted no problem! Maybe it's different style Britax car seats?

TallulahBetty Mon 25-Mar-13 14:57:07

I deffo have that car seat in the link i posted above. unless there's been a new version of the oyster brought out? that could explain it?

HavingALittleFaithBaby Mon 25-Mar-13 15:00:09

I'm pretty sure we've got this one. (Bearing in mind we haven't used it yet!)

me2013 Mon 25-Mar-13 15:46:52

i dont think the oyster has changed there think it more the car seats are different as the link havingalittlefaithbaby has added is the seat with the adaptors all ready in seat i know there are two other babysafe seats which i am going check with britax before i buy to make sure will post back when they reply to me.

Mehrida Mon 25-Mar-13 15:51:04

We have the Britax seat and the adaptors. Don't need them tho, other than to raise the height of the carseat.

Love love love my Oyster - good choice!

snala Mon 25-Mar-13 18:13:21

Ok my baby is 4 months old so car seat is very new, I got the oyster from the baby show last month- again very new. I used it on the school run without any adapters. The seat goes straight into the frame. before I sold the oyster because I hated it

All britax seats have to have the same fitting for them to fit onto the britax pushchairs!

snala Mon 25-Mar-13 18:19:06

I've just looked at the links. The Kiddiecare link is for the basic babysafe seat. That might be the one that needs adapters.

The babysafe shr definitely doesn't.

Pendipidy Mon 25-Mar-13 18:23:40

I loved mine from tiny baby but one word of advice.- my two year old looked very large and like he was too big for it and kind of sat slumped so i then changed it.

Tiggywunkle Tue 26-Mar-13 22:45:11

I know very little about it as yet, not even price, but have a look at the new Mutsy I-Go. I saw it yesterday and its got a seat very like the Oyster, but the fold is pretty flat. Also the new Casual Play Kudu 3 and 4, also have a seat very similar to the Oyster.

me2013 Fri 05-Apr-13 13:31:57

Got an email back from britax if using the britax babysafe plus shr II u do need the height adjuster adapters to use on the babystyle oyster if u are using britax babysafe plus shr then u don't need adapters and if using britax babysafe this has intergral adapters supplied with the seat. I know some on here have all ready said don't need adaptors but just passing what britax has said.
