Sunshade for a Maclaren for holiday

We're going to Portugal in 10 weeks. Rather than lug our huge P&T through the airport for our 7 month old, we're going to take our little Maclaren that SIL handed down to us (looks like a Triumph but I'm not sure) and I want to get a sunshade for it.

Can anyone recommend a good one?

The two I've been looking at so far are the shade a babe which looks good but is expensive and a Prince Lionheart one which looks like it might be good because it has a frame rather than just hanging over the buggy.

Has anyone tried these? Is it worth the extra for the shade a babe?

We have a shade a babe, it is good although sometimes a bit faffy with all the velcro straps. If you are getting your baby in and out alot it can also be a bit of a pain as you have to sort of post them in through the gap at the front iyswim, but they go block the sun really well. You can probably get one off ebay if you want to save some money.

The prince lionheart one doesn't look like it gives as much protection and won't fold as small for travel as the shade a babe. I would say you are getting what you pay for really and the shade a babe is probably better.

Hope that helps!

I've had a shade a babe but unfortunately my baby didn't like being covered so I could only use it when she was asleep and I felt it got very hot under it. So I have replaced mine with a Rayshade. Doesn't fully cover baby (depending on baby size and pushchair)but it is very adaptable.

Argos have them on offer at £11.99

Protect-a-bub is a similar product

There is a picture of it on a Maclaren so you can see how well it extends the hood. Best deals on Ebay I think.

Thanks babyluck. I have a similar thing that I use on the back seat of my P&T (interesting to see there is a cover especially for the P&T doubles seat on that last site!) I wasn't sure it was big enough to cover adequately though.

There is a really long on on there too though. Maybe that would be better than a full cover as it wouldn't get so hot underneath??

Ive got a Protect-a-bub. Brilliant. On second child with it. Yes the child can still get some sun but the idea works a treat.
