Pushchairs

This looks a LOT like a bugaboo...Is it?

This looks very much like a bugaboo - is it the "frog" or "gecko" - but the design sold onto a german manufacturer perhaps (because they don't seem to be selling these models in the uk anymore)?
The price is great - anyone here had one of these - I'm very tempted!
here on ebay

I'm not sure as I personally don't like them, but had to say - check the shoes in the video! Awesome!!

Bump!

LOL - I've read the feedback on the seller now and am not so sure.... 4 neg feedbacks.

I was just looking for a parent facing pushchair - might look at the hauck infinity now....can't really stretch to the cost of a real bugaboo for a near 2y old!

Will view the vids and look for those shoes..

They are not bugaboos the are mi wheels. My friend has one all of the bug fabrics etc fir it they are exactly the same as by cameleon.. Fantastic value compaired to bugaboo and I would say the build quality is just as good! She ordered from them too no problems

Would you say the fabric quality is the same? I wondered it it was a "copy" or "sold on design" that bugaboo were no longer making. I can't beleive the low price - and wondered if they were just as good - or a little less quality in the fabrics....
If they're the same - then we can now see how much extra profit bugaboo were taking for themselves I guess!

Loads of the 'pramaholics' ahve got them, the cam covers fit so they have been selling the 'mi' covers and putting cam ones on and you can't tell the difference!

Apparantly the quality is exactly the same.

The reason for one of the negs is the carseat isn't recognised as saafe in the UK as it hasn't been tested to UK standards, but if you email him he will sell the package without carseat for £185!

Even I'm tempted and I'm not in the market for a pushchair at the moment!

multimummy · 14/04/2010 11:07

I wouldn't want the car seat anyway - so that's a bonus if he sends without for less!

I've just been viewing the "bee +" online - that looks fab also - but I am not sure if I could manage without some air tyres....
rubbish pavements in my neighbourhood - plus we do like to go offroad - Is the bee only for those with new pavements and shopping centers in mind - can it handle cobbles (probably a stupid Q!).....

Off to google the cam cover prices....

I have a bee and a crappy potholey road, it does OK, but air tyres are better, Not sure if it could cope with cobbles, think the cam/miwheels could easily though.

Hmm - so they only need the cameleon tailored fabric to make up a "faux cameleon"? Flippin heck - I'm really very much tempted..... I think I am a certified pramaholic now! LOL

And now I've seen mothercare have the "old" bee on offer....and I think there's a 10% code for there too..... but the "faux cameleon" is more for me..... bigger better - more onboard storage...
Do bees even have a basket?

Yep about the same size as a maclaren basket, maybe a bit bigger.

Mothercare is good if you have a discount code and go through topcashback, especially as tpc are matching the % you get back from the retailer if you go through it twice that month!

The bee is ok on cobbles, surprisingly so, although it is definitely not as smooth as a Cam. It actually has a really good basket, (I use mine rearfacing so it is really easy to chuck stuff in!

The cameleon is beautiful though! And the custom covers and things you can buy is yum.

Also they can cope with snow and great muddy ditches without batting an eyelid lol!

Wierd - the mothercare website is telling me the 10% code is not valid on that item - despite email "bragging" that you can get a further 10% off their best offers.... code is EPT - valid til 25th April and they just sent it to me today! GRRR
Not sure I want the bee - just was testing the code and seeing what the final price would be(e).
Faux Cameleon works out at £299 with postage I think. (including the real cameleon covers from MC).

Try RWC or JLK, link for topcashback

Report
multimummy · 14/04/2010 11:43

Thanks - JLK works - they said RWC has expired.

Now to have a think and see what I want to do!

Bee is £323.10 and free delivery with that code. (and can run through top cash back too!)

I wouldnt buy from anyone who made that many spelling mistakes in a listing. Sorry, it sounds pedantic, but I just wouldnt.

Pushchairs are German, maybe the seller is...?

Does anyone know if the car seat adapters for the maxi cosy would work on the chassis of the miwheels ?
It is tempting £185 without the car seat

Report
Rockbird · 14/04/2010 15:09

Nooo, I was trying not to ask that! I don't want to know if adaptors or covers fit. I don't need one, DD hates the pushchair now...but I've always wanted to try a Cam/Frog whatever.

Does anyone know if the Bugaboo snow wheels will fit the Miwheels?
Thanks!

I'd love to have the fabrics if anyone wants rid - basket, hood and possibly seat if it will fit a frog frame?
