Shade a babe or protect a bub?

Hi, we are off to Florida, has anyone used these? Not sure which one to get. My girl is 2 and im not sure she will like being under the whole cover as in shade a babe but then does protect a bub still keep her protected enough?

Given her age she may find the full SAB to much and just the half cover is not that generous whereas the PAB is more angled and very positionable and with a covering of cream on she should be ok.

We've always got on well with the one that's called hippapotomaus or something - looks like the protect a bub anyway, as mobile says it#s easy to angle.

Will look that one too, do they cover the lo up enough? - obviously use suncream but am paranoid about the sun!

I used the PAB in Italy 2 years ago with young baby, no cream and when burn time was less than 10 minutes, she was fine, we obviously kept to shade where possible and i also threw over a muslin to make it darker for sleeps.

I use shade a babe. I like it because it also keeps insects off . We do quite a lot of woodland walks. Shade a babe also keeps wind at bay when walking on the sea shore. Toddler can see out fine. He doesn't mind it. It has the added bonus of keeping nosy dogs from getting too close. (Ones running off their lead at the beach or park mostly)

'Burn Time' is the time it takes without cream/protection for your skin to show signs of burning - redness etc.

It is linked to the UV levels the higher the UV the shorter the burn time.

As Ates says if baby/toddler always had a SAB/PAB they are happy to use them, it is like some children don't like the raincover being down.

There's no way my 2 year old would be happy under the shade a babe anymore. I have both and will be taking the protect a bub on holiday with us this year. I think it works well as long as it isn't windy.

I used a sab for about half a day before I realised how hot it was in there, was in Australia though. We now use the pab which we have found to be much better and smaller to pack.

Only used a SAB when in a P&T in newborn single mode so air travel but can imagine lack of thru air would very possibly make it warm in there.

Thanks, i dont think she will be happy underneath sab but worry the psb wont protect her enough of course she will have lotion on but worried it doesnt cover her enough?

I think it depends on the size of the baby. Can't get my PAB to cover the legs of my 2 year old but would have been able to when she was smaller.
