BJCM headroom? Alternatives?

We have a vista (which I love) but dd (19) months prefers to go in our maclaren quest umbrella fold now as she can get in & out herself. However storage space is tight & if you hang anything from the handlebars its very tippy. I've never really loved it so am (gulp) considering selling both & replacing with a different stroller but which?

Always quite fancied a bjcm as think will be more sturdy than maclaren but sat dd in one last week & has way less headroom so not sure if it would last dd as long? Any other recomendations along similar lines much appreciated. Tia!

We've got the bjcm gt after having a bugaboo and maclaren.
I.got it for dd.who is 2.5 and she is very comfy. When the hood is back the material bunches up.so.it looks as though her head is touching it but when its.up there is loads of room.

My ds is nearly 6 and he will often sneak a ride in the buggy if we're out and about and he's feeling lazy he still fits in and he's a big lad!

I love the bjcm it's amazingly easy to use and much nicer to push than maclaren. I see a lot of them around now they seem to be getting more and more.popular.

thanks for your reply. Can I ask - can she see out of it ok? The hood comes down quite low so just wondered does it bother her or do you mostly ride with the hood folded back?

The hood has three positions so you can adjust depending on the weather/situation. When it's all the way down I don't think DS would be able to see properly.

I think it's a great pram and the 4 wheeler has a weight range of around 30kg so definitely designed with older/bigger children in mind.

But the bag/basket issue may not be resolved. I don't find the basket particularly accessible and if you hang anything off the handles it also becomes back heavy. We are able to work around it, you just get used to remembering to take bags off before the child gets out!

DS (2.3) can also get himself in and out very easily, even with the food tray attached (he crawls under).

My tall four year old Dd can sit in our bjcm gt with the hood down. It's significantly taller than the Maclaren. Ds is 2.5 and pulls the hood down himself so can't object to it. But you always have the option to only part extend it so it's the same as any other stroller (if you pull it down 1/3rd it's about the same as the Maclaren). I tend to only completely extend it when I want him to sleep.
